WTB : Phat Quads

Postby Kekotic » Thu Mar 03, 2011 4:17 pm

Just putting this up as Arith has swayed me on purchasing the K2 mufflers, so I'm looking for a set of Phat Quads.

So anyone who is thinking of selling your quads, look no further!
Not interested in people trying to sell them for the price they were when brand new, would rather wait X amount of months to get PHAT to make brand new ones.

Cheers.

Should do a group buy for invidia quads if phat isn't making the quads.

Hmmm that's 6 of us who will pay.

I spoke to Michael today about making us a batch of the original type (not new muffler which he is waiting on) and he said the guy who has to set up some machine won't do it unless there is 10+ to be made, because it takes 1.5 hours to set up.
I have let him know how many of us are willing to go ahead with it, if I can get 4 more we might be in business

You should start a thread on an EOI for a Invidia group buy as back up. :D

1.5 hours to make 1 set of quads, and then have to set the machine up for whatever it's normally set at to pump out their usual stuff?
That's 3 hours of their time wasted in setting something up / changing it back to make 1 lousy set of quads?

Of course I barely spoke to Michael about it he just mentioned it as the reason he can't just knock us up a set of quads any time we want, I don't know anything further than that.

At 3 hrs of work to set up the machine, make the quads and then revert the machine back, and selling the quads at a price of $800, thats still $266.67 an hour. Less material cost, say $200 an hour. I'd spend the time making one set of quads for $200 an hour.

Well if you want to make me a set of Phat quads that would be great!

From what I understand Michael doesn't work at the place, they just let him use their stuff. So you have to factor that in.

Keiran, you should take deposits for this round to ensure you give Phat genuine numbers. This will weed out those people who sign up and then change their minds later (I got a few in my previous group buy of Phat quads). Even if it doesn't eventuate you simply just refund people's deposits so it's not like anyone will lose money if they commit and nothing happens.

Yeah I would be more than happy to organise it.

Let me speak to PHAT in person next weekend, see what he says.
Don't want to be holding on to peoples deposits for a month if it's not going to happen :?

I'd be keen if he did a new design of the muffler (i think u mentioned it somewhere on these forums a while ago, something about the muffler body sitting higher).
