Tensioner pulley assembly 3.6 H6

Postby AusPhil » Tue Apr 11, 2023 7:54 pm

Looking for a good used tensioner pulley assembly for the 3.6. I've replaced belt and both pulleys but still have belt noise starting up and noise at 2000rpm. Wondering if its the actual assembly.....clutching at straws now but hoping someone might have a known good one cheap to help my 'trial and error'. My god, even better if I could borrow one for a few days LOL. I'm in Sydney.

From my experience with the poly-groove belts on power steering pumps the noise is when the belt is worn out.

The mechanics of the failure is the pulley wears into the rubber belt grooves.
When the wear reaches the point where the tips of the rubber bottom into the valleys of the metal pulley friction drive is lost and the belt slips - making noise.
Maybe also check the amount of wear into the belt.

Thanks mate but I've replaced the belt and both tensioner and idler pulleys.
