Postby vhpete » Sun Jun 21, 2015 11:29 pm

Hi Guys,
Looking for a head unit or Ipod connectivity for my My05 Subaru Liberty.

My headunit currently is a McIntosh PF-25511

I am located in Melbourne but willing to get something shipped.

Thankyou,
Pete

Lots of options. Personally I went with an anycar link unit that plugs into the CD changer port. Gives you Bluetooth and iPod or Bluetooth and USB/SD card reader depending on the model you choose.

I can confirm that the Grom IPD3 / BT3 units will work with this McIntosh system. I have the same unit and was skeptical at first of the steering wheel controls not working but was surprised when I installed it that they do in fact work (volume, skipping music, and answering/rejecting calls using the up/down buttons). You do not lose your 6 stacker as it is a piggy back harness that plugs into the back of your McIntosh and allows you to then plug the 6 stacker into that. Pressing Disc simply swaps between the CD Stacker and the CD Input (aka Grom Unit). Very happy with the unit and would highly recommend. It's great for phone calls and just works.

My brother has just recently sold his Outback and has a virtually brand new Grom IPD3 unit available (with bluetooth and USB/Aux connections). This cost $230-240 at the time I think. Ill get him to post a message up with price :)

I just bought one of these to try it
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Bluetoot ... 24304.html

Works out at about $160 AUD

Has bluetooth so I can stream music and calls and includes a microphone too.

I also have the Grom IPD3 / BT3 unit installed in my 2005 Outback and can confirm that it all works very well including steering wheel controls :)

Hi Pete

I have a grom unit available if you're interested. Haven't gotten around to putting it up for sale yet, but you're welcome to it. $150 included shipping.

Would include Subaru GROM IPD3 (Subaru IPD3 Interface Box, Subaru Data Cable, 1 x Extension Port to Auxiliary Cable with USB Charging Port, 1 x Bluetooth Dongle & Handsfree Microphone). Barely used. I think it was in my car for around 2 months before we removed it when I sold it? You can spec the same unit here http://www.cushieaudio.com.au/subaru-ipd3.html to see what its worth.

Feel free to flick me a PM for any more information.

Cheers,
Cam
