I don't think this works with all lock nuts though. The McGard Ultra ones have a spinning top and need to be driven from the keyed inner section so I doubt bashing a socket over it would work.
That said, is it going to stop some prick trying it and marking your wheels? Maybe the wheels are better off stolen then they can be claimed on insurance! (if the policy covers it - some don't)
