There is your answer there
I bought a set of these as I had 1 wheel that was badly rashed and got it repaired properly 2 years ago. By repairing properly I mean not filling with bog and respray, but welding metal on , machining back and spraying.
The result was to me undetectable, and believe me I am pretty anal about the cars appearance! The downside was it cost $260
When these sets came up I bought a set (at $500) as I had 2 on the car that had very slight marks, the painted finish was marked but the there was no gouging of the metal. These were cheaper to buy than even respraying the damaged ones
So now I have 2 new and 2 very slightly damaged wheels in the garage. If I do it again I have spares. I could get rid of the minor damaged ones but why if I am only going to get what somebody else thinks they are worth when at that price they are worth more to me? I know if I really belt one I can ditch it and fix the minor marked one I have or I can get some cheap tyres for a set of track wheels
I am not trying to score points off you but really you will not get a cheaper set than the 4 new at 400, and any body that has a spare set is only going to get rid of them at the price you want to pay if they are badly rashed and it will cost you more to fix, as they, if they are smart would have bought new ones at that price and chucked the old ones!
Add to that if you did find a set for sale you will be wanting to see the damage ,haggle the cost and pick up or deliver........all to save what 100 bucks and you still have a marked set!
Good luck with whatever you decide!
