It's a pity no Gen V GT owner is taking up Phat's offer to have a prototype fitted. The dump is one of the most noticeable mods you can do for your turbo. Can't imagine how great it would be with the newer turbo! :P

Has anyone done just the dump with the rest of the exhaust being stock?

From memory, I think there were 1 or 2. While the noise level doesn't increase as much as it would with a full TBE, the turbo reponse is still awesome!

Quite a few actually. While the noise level has increased a little bit, the turbo reponse is still pretty good! Granted you don't achieve maximum potential without a better flowing centre pipe and mufflers. But most people do end up getting aftermarket mufflers.

Yeah ok thought so....have had a "tune only" approved by the Minister when our GTs properly run in, just trying to see if I can slip in a dump pipe without it being noticed noise-wise by the missus.

Yes. I had PHAT dump pipe and stock cat back exhaust on my car for a few months.

Remember guys, to get the best performance gain from a new dump pipe you need to get a tune carried out afterwards. After having Phat's mufflers and dump pipe fitted I gained around 20kwATW and with an open source tune gained another 25kwATW.

How would you describe the sound of the dump without further exhaust upgrade?

I assume these would bolt-on to an AVO centre pipe with no hassles?

Or is there an option to get a centre pipe with Y pipes coming? :)

Sound is not much louder than standard, if at all. May sound a little bit deeper if anything.
