dont get me wrong Steve is a good bloke and tuner but the use of ecutek and the price is the problem for most...if you want to rally your car then Maximum are the people to see but you wont get out cheaply. Tons of perth-wrx members swear by Sean and ASG but the line is long..try six week wait currently and Sean is on holidays this week I believe. Nik can help you out with a quote and make an appointment for you though.

+1

A chunk of the price for an EcuTek tune is for the licensing the tuner has to pay MRT. Plus once your ECU is flashed with EcuTek, it's forever locked and no one else but an authorised EcuTek tuner can re-tune your car. I should know, I'm one of the victims. Had to buy a new ECU to get out of it. Otherwise in the hands of a good tuner, EcuTek is just as powerful as any other tuning method.

Why would you want to wipe all traces anyway..it would a horrible thing to do to a new buyer imo, but yes you can revert to stock ecu map. Open source FTW.

why do people keep stock exhaust? Could be a selling point, doesnt like feel of car can revert to stock ecu.

to remove the drive by wire throttle stutter would be the best reason to retain tuned version but yes I agree about keeping stock exhaust in case someone wants it...again a horribly restrictive system in itself.

Thanks for the dump pipe Michael. As noted by everyone - this is one seriously well crafted bit of kit.

Also provided a lovely conversation piece between me and a couple of mates as we sat around and marvelled at your handiwork over a couple of beers last night (well yesterday afternoon to last night).

Am seriously looking forward to "spoolin nirvana"!

i might sound like an idiot!!but when you say you need a tune after putting a phats dump pipe on(witch im having done next week) what sort of tune do you mean?

An open source tune which basicly tweaks the ECU to take into account the freer flowing exhaust system among other things. Since my last tune I've had a few more mods added (think boost controller, Fujitsubo cat back system etc) so after my next mod (front mount) I'll be getting another tune done.

When I give an opinion you have to ask yourself...what the hell does he know about anything!

I started out with nothing....and I've still got most of it left.....
