Chaotic 2050,

Be sure to cover the hole in the base of the airbox to ensure you pull the maximum cold air from over the radiator and outside the engine bay. I found that with the hole uncovered, the intake air temps rose by around 5 degrees (monitored using the ECUDataScan).

Can I just ask, could this panel filter / removing the resonator bottle thing effect the air flow meter or something.
Maybe I'm being paranoid but I think it's using more fuel now.
I'll have to wait and see when I fill the tank up again and can compare a full tank to now, but I think I'll only make 400km or less on this tank of 98, and this is my 2nd tank since getting it so I thought I had been driving a little more conservatively than the last tank!

After any mod to the air intake system, the ECU will need time to adjust. It is probably sensing more air so could be injecting more fuel temporarily? Not an expert opinion, but this is a little Off Topic here, so you should refer to the appropriate topic on either the Fuel Consumption or Resonatorectomy threads.

Kind Regards,

Mark.

Fitted my a HKS panel and removed the resonator the other day. Loving the sound change, its not huge, but more accoustic in the higher revs, and stealth BOV hiss, particularly in 3rd gear and abouve when boosting hard! Well worth it!
