for sale FRONT LOWER ARM BUSHES

Postby PHAT GT » Sun Jun 14, 2009 1:22 pm

Hey Guys

I've noticed a lot of interest in these lower arm bushes and i have one of the best solutions available.

These have been on a few AUS Libs for quite some time now (owners may want to comment) with very good results.

These bushes will increase steering feel, sharpness, and give a firmer feel on the road.

They also have several large shims, so you can adjust anti lift angles to your liking (very easy job).

Like many other replacement bushes on the market, you will feel a bit more of the road through the steering wheel.

The advantage over other bushes is, these don't require and grease to lubricate, them which only attracts dirt and small rocks, making the bush wear faster.

These are made of silicon rubber, with a pure silicon insert to give a smooth movement and reduce the amount of slop in the lower arm compared to the stock bush.

These come with a 3 year/50,000km replacement warranty and these are made in Japan.

Hi Michael,

They look to be an equivalent of Whiteline's anti-lift kit is that correct? Do you have specs in terms of how much castor adjustment it can provide thanks.

Last time I had my car serviced I was told that my LCA bushes were shot and needed replacing. Previously in this forum and others, the fulcrum LCA bushes have gotten positive feedback. Any idea on how the Fulcrum's compare to these being offered here?

Plus, a dumb question: Is there also upper control arm bushes as well?

The front suspension is a macpherson strut type and as such there is no upper control arm - the strut handles positioning of the top of the wheel hub

Gotta remove control arm from chassis and steering knuckle, cut out or use a hydraulic press to remove the old bush, then use the press to install the new bush before refitting the control arm. Really need a workshop for this one unless you just happen to have a press at home or wanna take the arms to a workshop :)

^ I'd say in conjunction with uprated rear swaybar especially considering ease of fitment for the latter. These should be the most basic of suspension mods even before lowered springs and new dampers.

But if the stock bush is looking like the one in the above post's pic, then definately do that first before anything else :). But agreed the lower control arm position is a compromise carried over from the much earlier Libertys and leaves little to be desired in terms of dynamic caster.
