i think i repled to you regarding springs

as i said i cant get any spring that are 40+mm lower and at that ride hight with Bilsteins you would have next to no travel making the car unsafe

if want to go that low i would be looking at coilovers

I have a MY08 STI, so I have the Bilstein shocks and STI Pink springs.

I'm looking to drop the car to a level which is pretty much exactly as what is shown in the picture above.
If these are S-Tech's, I'll be interested in a set...

Tony, where these springs modified at all to suit the GT-B above?

That's the drop you get with the S-techs :) I have them on mine too, no modification to install :)

WOW it looks clean in that pic :D :D

These are the Phat GT edition Tein S-tech's, you can only order them through Phat GT, a vendor on this forum.

Luke, is it are daily or do you track it??

I had these changed out recently and replaced with are set of custom valved Cusco Zero 2E coilover, much better ride if your after something with are little more adjustment with both height and dampener.

These spring were sold to another forum member in Canberra.

Hey Tony,

The car is daily driven - no track work.

I have been considering a set of coilovers for the last little while, as I wanted the ability to adjust the damper and ride height.
The drop in the photo above on S-Tech's looks good though, so I may be happy with a set of springs - depending on how they rode.

In response to the photo above, you put in a a comment on page 7:

Senator: "Phat did a little R&Dto get front down, worked a treat, no difference in stiffness, still smooth."
Sentator: "the phat tein a best suited to the spec b or 06 &07 tb sti's or the 08 sti, with a bit of modifcation."

PHAT: "Shane dont make it sound so doggy, i did a professional Chip Foose style fine adjustment on the Teins (front only) we are not talking whole coils here but centermeters off the end of the spring"

These comments are what led me to believe that PHAT did some sort of modification to this customers S-Tech's in order to get that ride height... Or is this the standard ride height that the S-Tech's give on an STI'?

How did you find them? Was the reason that you swapped them out because of ride comfort?

Sorry I should have mentioned, the MY08 sti was fitted with are different Bilstein struts to the standard GT-B’s, so the front springs did require are slight modification which Michael completes himself, prior to delivery.

The main reason for the change to coilovers was to further stiffen the ride when at track events, also I use the car to tow so wanted the ability to raise the height and have control of the dampening to make things are little more comfortable when towing (dampener control is easily done with E-con unit fitted inside the car, dampener setting can be change simply clicking are button).

The S tech’s are a lot better than the sti pinks, you will lose the floating sensation and over all feel is a lot smoother both in and out of corners for general road use.

The one thing I noticed and hated about the sti pinks was the amount of pitching back and froths when on the power, the S Tech’s eliminated this.

Thanks for your help Tony.

Phat, do you modify the springs for every STI customer?

I just want to ensure that my car sits almost identically to how the STI in the above photo sits.
In your original post, the black Lib doesn't seem to sit in a similar way...?
