thanks for the replies gents, i'm gonna print them out and as soon as the wife hears it i'm going to show her the support
i'm pretty happy with it and, yeah, there is a noticable difference in performance and sound. not so much heaps louder but deeper and richer. we did some db reads and its actually quieter at 4.5k than at 3.5-4k.
only one thing for it, drive like a granny....... or wring its neck
whats gonna be even more exciting is my visit to pulse on tuesday :D

Good stuff Adam! If I knew you were up today I would have dropped by with the camera and video recorder! But yeah, you're THE first recipient of Phat's complete turbo back exhaust setup. Dump pipe, centre pipe, Y-pipe, and mufflers. Stainless steel from top to bottom, baby! Good luck with Pulse on Tuesday!

** JUNE 5TH **

Just a quick update on everyone else eagerly awaiting their centres. Unfortunately there's a bit of a delay. After producing x2 centre pipes, the mandrel bender at Liverpool Exhaust broke a vital piece after trying to do 75-degree bends on a 3" piece of stainless steel. A new part has been ordered. In the meantime mandrel pipes have been ordered from Melbourne and are being delivered. This will see Phat continue with the production as of next week. For now, it's just Adam & Senator who are the lucky recipients of the first two in production.

BREAKING NEWS

My wife had to take the GT to the shops this morning and then meet me to swap cars so that i could go to work.
i must admit that i was a little nervous about the possible spray that i could recieve over any extra noise.
lets not forget that this is a woman that thought that there was someting wrong with the car after i put in a HKS panel filter.
So i'm waiting, cowering juuust a little.......... nothing?
maybe she's waiting to give me a proper serve when i get home?
i just spoke to her on the phone and as an aside she asks "is our car going faster?"
panic stations dawson, think man, THINK  ...... "how do you mean dear?" was all i could come up with :? good work dawson, she won't be able to read anything into that. hehe.
"is it taking off quicker?" i held back explaing that it was an inanimate object and that it was she that was the lead foot.
most importantly.... NO MENTION OF NOISE
:yahoo: :yes2: :clapping: :good:

** UPDATE AS OF WEDNESDAY JUNE 17TH **

Sorry for the delays folks! Still waiting for more stainless steel pipe bends before more stainless steel centres can be finalised. We've still got x10 more to go! Phat will price up the cost of the mild steel version for me to post up tomorrow.

(suspicious wife) "is it taking off quicker?"

I like to use the good old excuse of: "It's the colder weather, the intercooler does a better job so the car pulls harder"
Or you can always go with "Yeah, possibly. I'm trying that new 98RON petrol from <insert brand here>, it's sposed to give better throttle response"

Both generally lead to that blank stare and then "Oh, ok then". Validate their concern, then provide some basic justification for it. The wrong answer clearly is "Nah, I've just shelled out $3K on a custom exhaust. You like it?"

 BUSTEEEEEED
That's why mine are 'standard' ;) Actually the killer for me was when she went to pick them up from the welder and had to fill out the company cheque for the 'repair' work. I nearly fell over when she rang me with the price!! :o Needless to say, negotiation took place and future models won't be as complex.
