I might think about painting the body of the muffs but I like the shiny tips. Must be the magpie in me!

That's correct, sir. People don't normally pick up a set of quad tips looking for attention seeking overt loudness. Quad tips are a more classy appearance, and one needs a subdued exhaust note and noise level to match. Plus Phat's philosophy has always been to provide maximum gain while having a stealthy appearance to avoid attracting the wrong kind of attention.

Always been my approach to mods as well. When it comes to peformance looks:
Is stock
Is good

(even if the car is far from stock :P The less attention from the fuzz the better.)

Danny, Mano's already pushed you back to waiting 2 years because of such questions. Are you looking to increase that? :P

I would be up for this setup as well - The painted body and leaving the tips nice and schmick...

Is this even possible Arith? Or is it one or the other - in which case I would have to go all painted :)

Cheers,
Matt.

LOL! Let's worry about getting them deployed first! :D The reason why Phat doesn't want any deviations from all stainless steel is because then you have control over what you're sending people and people know what to expect. If you paint this and that, unfortunately it can get scratched during shipping/handling and then the complaints start to roll in.

So it's best just to receive the mufflers in its stainless steel form, and then have it painted to whatever you like through your own handy work or any muffler shop would be able to do it. Plus it'll be too time consuming to cover the tips so they don't get painted on and vice versa. Most likely the best Phat can do is paint it all or nothing.

:scenic: ** UPDATE AS OF THURSDAY MARCH 26TH ** :read:

All, thank you again for your continued patience. I sincerely apologise for the delays. But after the 1st production batch last week, Phat was not happy with how they turned out. So this week was spent back at the muffler shop re-doing the jigs so that even monkeys would be able to produce a set without mistakes. And no, your mufflers are NOT being made by monkeys.

Phat originally modelled the tip lengths after the HiTechs, but they tend to protrude out a bit too much. So he's pushed the mufflers forward towards the front a bit, showing less of the tip and give it has a more integrated appearance with the car. IMO it looks fantastic! Again, modifications to the jigs were requierd for that as well. In any case, Phat is now happy with the jigs, and will start as many more sets in the coming week or two.

Everyone who were fitted with mufflers from the 1st batch have now been fixed (except for poor smythie who has to wait until Friday morning). Big apologies to all non-Sydney siders who were next in line  , as we had to pull in some more Sydney owners from further down the queue to come in and fit a set. This is to ensure Phat's new jig will fit all model years without a hitch before shipping them outside of Sydney.

So again, thanks for your continued patience. :bye: But rest assured this is all being done the right way, or in this, the Phat way, to ensure all issues are identified and resolved before they are fitted to your Liberty.

Full production should start again as of tomorrow, and we should see another 5-7 sets (if not more) by mid next week. :ok:

Some pics from Danny's (D_Liberty) car with the update tips to be more hidden. Looks great! :good:

I think I can say this for everyone, in that we all appreciate the GREAT lengths that PHAT ( Michael ) goes through to ensure the final product is 110% :D

As the saying goes, good things comes to those who wait ! These PHAT mufflers are GOODNESS at its best from what I can see with the latest photos. Thanks to you Jim for your continued efforts in getting all this organised for one and all. :D
