Jim said they may take an extra week or two because they have to bend the tips as well as polish them. Also I'm sure PHAT's pretty busy.

Hey Jim thanks for answering my Qs via PM; I've decided to go for the mild steel quads with mild steel tips (painted in gunmetal). Am I the first to want to go for a totally stealth look?

Firstly. May I ask if your car is an MY04 GT or 2.5i? Either way it won't sound like Jim's beacuse you've either got the 2.0T or the 2.5i. Only the 2.5T's have the rex burble.

Secondly, you mentioned you wanted them painted in gunmetal. I believe somewhere in the forsale section Jim is selling perfectly good PHAT quad tips for $475 which have already been painted in gunmetal. You'd save $50 by buying these instead of new.

Good point drndrn I couldn't make out much in that dark carwash video and forgot that the MY07s come as a 2.5T as well. In that case mine *will* sound different as mine is a 2.5i.

Thanks for the heads up re the used mufflers when I checked they were sold but they are back on the market again, so it looks like I may be getting my hands on them sooner than first thought =).

Yes it is a 2.5i. But those are Hi-Tech Mufflers not the PHAT mufflers. And from what I hear, converting to uneven length mufflers would most likely cause you to lose power.

That's Noozal's car. teK, if you're after that exact same sound, Gordy's selling his HiTech mufflers (as he's moving to a Phatback Exhaust System) if you're interested as I don't have a recording of the Phat mufflers on a 2.5i yet.

Folks, just a quick update. There's an abundance of mild steel mufflers and piping, but the exhaust shop is out of the 2.5" stainless steel tips!

In any case, Phat is hoping they will produce more by this week because there are x4 sets of mild steel mufflers going to Melbourne. The ones he can get done will be sent courier at the end of the week. And the rest he'll try to get done before birch_security makes his way down there mid-next week.

Priority at the moment is a set for mattson, who's been very patient so far and which I'm hoping to ship out end of week.
