WRX DUMP PIPES

Postby PHAT GT » Tue Sep 23, 2008 11:10 pm

if any one has friends with a WRX 2.5L Turbo the below will soon be on sale (NOT CURRANT SHAPE the ONE BEFORE) (CURRANT MODEL IN TESTING AT THE MOMENT)

we have just finished the testing of the same style dump for the 2.5L turbo WRX 06-07 models (pig nose models)

same price and quality and same performance gains and still a direct bolt on

Are these s/steel? And if so, are the welds also "proper" s/steel ? The reason i ask is if /when i get one i plan to wrap it with thermotec (yes i know i don't really neeed to cos its ceramic coated but...) and want to make sure the welds won't crack.

Thanks,
Mo

Hi Mo

i did not make them from S/Steel due to the high heat so mild steel cermic coated in and out will last a lot longer and perform better and you will never have a problem with turbo gaskets blowing out or cracking

from what i understand about cermic coating you should'nt use wraping as it will tend to rot the cermic

Michael

Thanks for the info Michael, I'll prob take one of your pipes the next time you get them made.

hey guys just before i send all these dumps out read below and see what you think

iv come up with a design that im using on the WRX set up which you may be interested in

where the dump joins the cat back there is a reducer from 3" or 76mm (dump pipe) to the factory cat back 61mm

so ill be give a slip join with clamp so you can remove the reducer and slip on a 3" or 76mm straight pipe with a two bolt flange welded to it so if you change at a later date the restrictive center section to a custom 3" you just slip out the reducer and slip in the 3" adaptor and off you go with out ever having to remove the dump pipe in turn saving money

i have these at the coaters now and will be ready on monday morning

as iv made pleanty of these ill through a set in for every dump

FOR FREE FREE FREE
sorry no pics but i can tell you its the way to go i just didd'nt have them ready in time but looks like the coaters will come through

let me know ???????

Would the center pipe make much difference in terms of noise and performance?

Also can it connect to stock mufflers or is there no point in doing that?

Cheers
