** UPDATE AS OF THURSDAY JULY 23RD **
The Good News
The last of the stainless steel mufflers were made on Tuesday this week, and sent to libertygt in Melbourne. Phat was waiting for the inlet pipes to be made in order to finish the mild steel mufflers. Unfortunately the inlet pipes were not bent until 3 PM today. However, not one to be beaten by time, Phat recruited a whole bunch of welders at Liverpool Exhaust and was able to whip up x3 sets of mild steel mufflers (that's x6 mufflers!) in 45 minutes. Then he had them painted and then packed up all x3 sets just as the Couriers Please van pulled up! Sent out just in time for next day delivery to the Melbourne folks for their cruise this weekend!
Danny (wassell2381), Tommy (tkboi), and Matt (mattson), your mufflers will be made tomorrow morning (all parts are available) and shipped tomorrow (Friday). I promise you guys will be getting your mufflers next week.
The Bad News
Alright, now onto the unpleasant part. Due to the rush in getting the mufflers made and the fact that other people were involved, Phat was unable to customise each order as requested. So all muffler sets made today and bound for Melbourne were mild steel painted in gunmetal, with stainless steel tips. Darren (drndrn) originally ordered unpainted mufflers and Jimmy (teK--) wanted painted mufflers and painted tips. Sorry guys. Darren, if you still want unpainted mufflers, simply strip the paint off the mufflers. And for Jimmy, simply sand the tips and paint them.
However, I had a brief glimpse of the painted gunmetal mufflers with the stainless steel tips, and they look awesome! I didn't get a chance to take pictures before they got boxed, so if Darren or one of you guys could take a picture of the mufflers out of the box that would be great. But they looked great! And I think Darren and Jimmy should give that look a try. I think it might grow on you guys.
