14/08/09 - Wakefield Park Track Day

14/08/09 - Wakefield Park Track Day

Postby swingn » Mon May 04, 2009 3:54 pm

Hi All

Update 6/07/09

The track day on the 14th August is fast approaching! Let me say, all the people I have spoken to who are attending this day are extremely excited

Pretty much everyone has paid now, which has made the organization process almost a pleasure to deal with :D

As we now have 20+ people confirmed, the ambulance will now be required. I have already organized this through Wakefield Park :D Although it does come at an extra cost, I personally feel more comfortable knowing we will have a medical professional on site just incase.

The driving instructor has now been booked as well. His name is Len & I know him through the VW forum I am part of (Where he comes very highly recommended). He provides his driver training services at all tracks in NSW & has conducted (Dare I say) MRT driving days in the past. I have already had a handful of people express their interest in this. So if you are keen, please make yourself known :D In regards to costs for this service, it will be divided equally between the people interested. My best guess at this stage is it will be approx $35.00 per person.

Sadly, there has been very little interest in timing & I think we may have passed the booking date also. To justify the costs of timing ($585.00) we would need all those attending to be interested. I’m sure one of the on lookers will be able to provide some form of timing on the day so we can gauge our improvement

As we now have confirmed numbers of 20+ & everything is booked & ready to roll, I am please to announce that the track fees are down significantly down from the $294.00 which has been paid. The final cost is $230.00 + Wakefield License & Instructor (If either are required) :D I endeavor to refund the difference on the day.

If you are free on the day, I would encourage you to attend. It’s a great way to improve your driving ability & give your car the berries in a safe & legal fashion… But if you don’t want to drive, one & all are more then welcome to come & give moral support to the drivers. Just make sure you all spend a few bucks at the café (Which will be available to us throughout the day) to keep Wakefield nice & happy

Below is the updated master list of those who are attending &/or have expressed interest in attending. I have also indicated who will be taking advantage of the driving instructor:

At the moment, 14th August would suit me best (More time to organise things also).

Also, my Polo GTI driving mate is keen for the 14th, but needs to confirm availability & funds :P

Cars only sadly :P

Is 14th August fine with you? It's probably the best date thinking about it... Allows us more time to get organised etc.

Matt, seeing that my car is a show pony, please put me down as an observer for the day.

i am in on either dates mentioned :)

i can also round up a couple of renault folks too if numbers are looking a bit short - they are a great bunch and very respectful and have great track etiquette too :)

Done & done :D ... But I still think you should come & give old NY00MI the berries on the track Jim Boy 8)

Guys, ideally we need to have some confirmed numbers so we can make the booking by this Wednesday (Non-refunable $500 deposit needs to be paid), then we can sort out the rest over the next month or so :D
