Hi gtspec. Sorry for the late reply.
Someone threw away my sticky note (that I stick to my monitor) that had my username/password for this site written on it.
I went for K-Max springs which are custom made.
Anyways, yes, lowered too much. When I went in initially to have things measured, I wanted a one-finger gap over the fronts, and whatever it took to make the rear look even with that. I knew that meant that the rear would hardly need dropping at all. I ended up lowering almost 2" (inches) in the front (~50mm). I told them to lower the rear only 1/2" (13mm) but the guys told me the car would look weird. In the end I agreed to a 1.25" drop in the rear (30mm).
When I got the car back, it looked like a squatting dog. I called the guys out to have a look and they told me that they LOVED how it looked. "Trust me, its what everyone wants". Anyways, I took the car from them... but came back straight away the next morning. Kept scraping over speed humps and on one occasion, scraped my exhaust tips.
To top things off, the fronts didn't have a one-finger gap like I asked for. More like a three-finger gap.
So, they raised the car by a whole inch (25mm) in the rear. That's brought the front down a bit. Now I have a two-finger gap in the front and a rear gap that almost matches. I'm still not happy. Fronts need to come down an additional 12mm or so, but the rears are fine now. No scraping... no dog-taking-a-dump look. Its just not my style.
As for ride quality... I liked it initially. Very nice and stiff. Better than stock. No squat on acceleration... or at least, very little of it. Not so sure I like the ride after a week of driving one the new springs. A bit too bumpy for my tastes. Wondering when my shocks are going to go.
