The Fifth Annual Hunter Valley Cruise!! Sat 31st May 2014

Postby aekOne » Mon Mar 10, 2014 6:06 pm

Hi Lib ASN members.

SubyClub's annual Hunter Valley cruise is returning for it's 5th year running and we'd like to extend the invite as usual to our ASN friends!

This is your chance to be a part of SubyClub history.

You are welcome to tag along even if you are not in a Subaru - Friends and family also welcome, remember - the day is child friendly!

Lets try and get those Liberty numbers up and give the impreza/wrx and Forester guys a run for their money!

Date: Saturday May 31st 2014. Mark it in your diary ! You have plenty of notice, so no excuse for not coming !

Meet up: The old toll gates at Berowra on the Pacific Hwy (1049 Pacific Hwy, Cowan for GPS location).

Time: 8.30am meet up for a 9am departure.

Image

Destination: Harrigans Irish pub, Pokolbin NSW.

We will be stopping Peats Ridge, so anyone from Central Coast / Newcastle feel free to meet up with the group there. The meet spot will be "Flynns Road" just after the exit from the F3. There is a signpost "Australia Walkabout Wildlife park" there.

Image

Details: Leave from Hornsby and head to Brooklyn along the old pacific hwy. Cross the Hawkesbury River and get on to the F3. Continue along the F3 until the Peats Ridge exit. From there we exit the F3 and continue along Peats Ridge road until Central Mangrove, where we follow George Downs Drive through Buckety and take the Great North Road through the state forest. When we reach Wollombi (where we'll stop for some pics, drink and toilet break) we will then take Paynes Crossing Road which will take us through more of the Pokolbin state forest (Twisties), until we get to Broke and turn on to Broke road to enter the Hunter Valley, and then finally stop at Harrigans Irish Pub on Broke road for lunch. Don't worry, there is plenty of car space!

Meeting at this spot at 9:30am for a 10:00am departure.

Make sure you have a full tank of petrol before leaving, as you will most likely use this entire tank on the round trip.

We will be coming back via Cessnock and the F3, so people can take there appropriate exits from there (central coast etc..) or fill up with more petrol if need be. There are petrol stations on the Old Pacific HWY before the Berowra truck stop meet point - so you can fill up here (98 RON available).

There will some of us that are staying in the Hunter on the night - Watch this space for more details!

!!! FURTHER DETAILS WILL BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY !!!

Hey guys,

People have started booking overnight accommodation at the Hunter Valley Motel - $140 a night.

If anyone is planning on staying up there for the night i suggest staying here as they're expecting a car club for the night :)

Make your bookings here: http://tinyurl.com/ml7pa52

Cheers

Yeah was an awesome turnout. I was pretty happy with how well my 3RB kept up with the all the turbo variants, considering i had 4 dudes on-board.

I always forget to find other Liberty ASN peeps. Who was there?
