Sydney Drive Day - December 5

Sydney Drive Day - December 5

Postby Roddez » Wed Nov 10, 2010 3:46 pm

In October last year, we had planned to do big drive in conjunction with the ACT boys. For a number of reasons it was called off. Following the consumption of large quantities of red meat last night, we decided that it was to go ahead in early December.

The preferred date is December 5 because it's the weekend that the V8 SuperCars are at Homebush. This is a good excuse to leave...

The original route route still stands - west via Bells Line to Lithgow then through Jenolan Caves to Oberon. Following lunch in Oberon, we then head south through Taralga to finish in Goulburn.

There is still the option for the Canberra boys to meet up with us by heading up through Goulburn, Taralga and Oberon to meet up with the NSW drivers prior to Jenolan Caves. We then stick together to Goulburn.

Be warned, this is a long drive (500 - 550k's for the day), but the roads are a lot of fun and worth the drive.

Link to the proposed NSW route on Google Maps.

Sydney Departure Points:

Point A – KFC Carpark (Cnr Briens Rd & Redbank Road, Northmead)
Meet time from 8:15
Departure Time: 8:30

Point B – McDonalds Carpark (Cnr Windor Rd & Groves Ave, Vineyard)
Meet time 9:00
Departure time 9:15.

NSW/ACT Groups Meeting Point: Cnr Duckmaloi Rd & Jenolan Caves Road - Approx 11:30.

Lunch: Main Street – Oberon. Approx 12:30 – Departure 13:30
I would expect us to go to that strange cafe again serves Banana and Bacon...

Finish Point – Goulburn. Approx 16:30.

Why wouldn't you be allowed to go? Unless you have done a Matt on us?

I'm keen. Who else from the ACT is in? We'll do the Canberra - Bungendore - Tarago - Lake bathurst - Goulburn - then up to Jenolan route, awesome drive.

Factory Satnav can't hold more than 6 waypoints Roddez - please adjust the route.

:P

Looks like I need to fill up at Richmond to get 98 (Caltex), then I should be right through to Goulburn. Or I could Fill up with 95 in Oberon. Decisions decisions.
