Geez, looks like we have our 20 people already!!! Just waiting for deposits to come in... Until deposits have been received (Or remittance advice has been provided) you're spot is not secured.

Smythie won't be joining us on the track sadly :( But he is still going to provide his services as the track Marshall for the day :D Without his services last year, I don't think the track day would've run as smoothly.

So over the moon he will be with us again this year... Even if he's not burning rubber like the rest of us :P

Any how, as soon as he dropped out, he was replaced by a Polo GTI driver... So technically we've got our numbers, just waiting on the deposits to secure the spots.

If you are interested & are able to attend, please post your interest or PM me... If there is enough interest (Seems to be the case so far) I will open the day to a total 28 car / drivers.

There has also been a great deal of interest & timing... I shall confirm these costs & fingers crossed everyone is keen for it... It's something we didn't have last year & I'm keen to get it over the line this year.

Cheers
Matt

I'm sure you'll have something to drive by the time we get to the day :D Afterall, it's just under 3 months away, plenty of time :D

not looking good :(

According to them, they will try to assess the car in 2 months, then they need to stuff around with the payment, then i need to find a car :(

It would appear I can't count :P Currently have 19 spots filled... But it's looking promising that the numbers will be pushed up over the original 20 car / driver cap.

Will also confirm costs for timing & driving instructor :D These extras will become mandatory for all should the majority of people be interested.

Personally, I think the driving instructor is great, especially for people who are new / novices at the track... Timing would also be great just so everyone can gauge they're improvement etc. Since there is no more OP, Wakefield is going to become the most popular place to have track days due to it's lower cost etc (Looked into Eastern Creek... Yeah, faaar too expensive for my blood).

Don't forget there is also the Marulan Driver Training Center. http://www.mdtc.com.au/index.html A mate had his work go up there for a day and said although not quite as large as Wakefield the day was awesome and the facilities were top notch. From the look of it a street day is $100 (+ you have to buy a yearly licence for $30 if you don't have CAMS or other).

Somewhere else to consider I guess.

My last experience was filled with rabbits and foxes doing the bolt across the track……… also this track has not got a lot of run off.

That's pretty much what I heard about that place as well... Although it is cheaper + we could always go hunting before to "thin out their numbers" :P

Ok guys & gals... Have looked into timing again for this years Track Day.

Based on 20 cars / drivers pricing including timing is $295.00 (Plus Wakefield License should you not already hold one). The reason the cost is so high is for the following reasons:

1.) An ambulance is required for timed sessions (Or sessions of more the 20 cars / drivers) - This charge has gone up in the last 12 months :(

2.) The tower must be hired for timing.

3.) Timing equipment & operator must be hired - This charge has gone up in the last 12 months :(

It is a fair jump in price to have the service, but from everyone I've been in contact with regarding this day, everyone is keen... I'm one of them :P

So if you are currently attending the day, or are keen / able to attend (Still looking likely the numbers will be pushed up to 28 :D ) please have your say either in this thread or via PM...

Guys, I'd recommend timing, it's official too and posted up on by Natsoft.

It's the only real indication of how you've improved or not throughout the course of the day. Remember the lines you take and the sessions and then compare it. You'll benefit heaps from it.

WP now has it live and showing straight afterwards each lap, where as before it consisted of a printed sheet posted on the board.
