Pretty sure they only need ADR approved helmets

I've got a better idea Ed - last race session I'll undo my wastegate pipe flange, take em for a wrap and really make em scream

just don't tell my missus

Whilst we're on the topic of helmets - guys if you're bringing your own helmet make sure it has all the approval stickers and ticks etc still on there. If they're missing or have fallen off etc the scrutineers / marshals won't let you race. At least that's what happens at other tracks when you bring your own helmet.

Hey guys,

Checked my old emails and yes passengers do need an MDTC licence if they do not have a competition licence, as well as the ADR helmet.

Hey guys,

I contacted MDTC today to find out when final payment is required. I confirmed we wanted lap timing and confirmed our numbers (23) and received the following email:

MDTC wrote:Hi Jerome,

Yes that is fine. Will organise timing and ambulance attendance for you. Ambulance is compulsory with timing.

Amount due on the day will be:-

Track Hire $1950.00 less deposit paid $487.50 = $1462.50
Timing $570.00
Ambulance $605.00

Total balance due $2637.50

This was unexpected. I spoke to them about this when I first organised the track day and was told the ambulance was only compulsory for 30+ drivers. I apologise for anyone who feels this was a poor organisational error, but I was misinformed. What this means for us:
- If we choose to have lap timing, cost will be $136 per person, which means everyone will get a $4 refund on the day.
- If we choose to have NO lap timing, cost will be $85 each, which means everyone will get a $55 refund on the day.

To be fair, everyone has already paid and committed to $140, so it's not as if anyone will need to put in anything extra. I was initially going to leave it up to a vote and let majority have it, but I think it is better for me to make an executive decision that we WILL have lap timing. If you have a problem with this, please PM me to voice your concerns. If I have a mutiny, I will obviously have to appease the masses and go with no lap timing 8)

If what we originally paid you still covers the cost then there isn't issues.

That's the way I saw it. Also, upon reflection I think I would prefer to have the ambulance there than to not. However, if someone drops out before the track day and is adamant they want their money back then we will have a shortfall...

They can demand their money back, then you can charge a cancellation fee of $140

yep timing is a must so ambulance it is i guess
do we get licence at driver briefing? i.e. passengers have to be there, or can they come later on in the day and still get it?
doubt the girls would want to get up before dawn to get down there

Happy either way - no biggie. As said above, if what we've paid so far still covers it then I'm cool with that.

Doesn't bother me, I'd just waste the refund anyway.

Having an ambulance would turn out ok in the case I roll over and get a pole through my neck or tear my arm off or something.
