* Best Sounding Car Award - Ian (VW Forum) in his R32 Golf... I don't think there is any disputing this one. That noise put our Suby's to shame
Well, I know the owner of the R32 got down to 1:11.43. He was hugely stoked with that time - it was close to 2 seconds better than his previous best. In addition to that, the young guy had previously not been able to better him but at around 3pm, he beat the owner's best (at that time) of 12.0 with an 11.5. Red mist descended and an 11.43 was managed late in the day. But whether he was the fastest or not (wrist watch timing had the 996 between 1:11 and 1:12 a lot of the time), his was the best sounding IMO
That 996 though was am amazing experience. Super power, super dooper brakes, awesome turn in and balance and so much commitment from the driver. Came past us at the pits soooo fast. That said though, Trieu's didn't seem all that much slower at pit wall. He was sooo on it everywhere whenever I saw him.
The Cayenne had its tyres going all gooey after about 5 laps. A 4x4 has no right to be so fast. Tyre endurance though suffered
The Integra Type R. Super loud. Looped it 2 or 3 times on his first out lap of the day. His commitment didn't drop off all day though so kudos to him for that.
Brendans proving that a quiet arse dragger could be punted pretty quickly.
The MPS3 - what a tyre frier that one was. The first few sessions it had the fronts howling on corner exit. I think he started taking it a bit easier on the gas pedal during the day. The instructor reckoned he had an awesome gearchange by the way.
Adam - proving a GT could hang with an RS4 and a 135i coupe. One session there I waved the blue at him as I thought he was holding the Audi up (the two kraut cars belonged to mates of his). Being the good boy he was, he let the Audi through then dutifully hounded it for the rest of the session. The 135i was right there on their tails as well and all day, even down the straight, wasn't out done by the v8.
Trieu's brother - that S2k needs an exhaust
Joel - punting that Gen 3 RX quite quickly. Well done mate
Jason - what I would have paid to hear that C63 howl down the straight. Even for a couple of laps

I had a great time flagging for the guys. Wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Don't hesitate to ask
Oh and one last thing. I don't think anyone has thanked Matt for the absolutely perfect weather. It could not have been better. Bone dry, around 15-20 degrees all day (a little cooler in the shade), minimal wind. Just bloody perfect. A little sunburnt, but only a little
When's the next one?
