I'm keen on a few laps with the driving instructor as well.

What time are we starting?

Is anyone going down on the Thursday night?

No worries mate :D

I will be posting more details up next week... But everyone will need to be to Wakefield by 8:30am for driver instructions / safety etc... We have the track from 9:00am - 4:00pm :D

I don't know of anyone going down the night before, but there are a bunch of us staying down on that Friday night :D So me thinks a nice meal & a few drinkies will be in order... We'll just be careful with Normy if VB is the only beer on offer ;)

Hi All

It’s almost track time! :D

Below are the main details / plan for the day:

Details

Track opens – 8:00 am
Driver’s briefing / Sign in - 8:30 am (compulsory for all drivers)
Track Time Begins - 9:00 am
Track Time Finishes - 4:00 pm

I will allocate you into group (Of approx 6 cars) according to your track experience and will run 15 minute sessions each.

What you need on the day

* An ADR approved helmet (red sticker with ticks) – if you need to hire a helmet (Please advise so I can make prior arrangements), Wakefield Park does offer helmet hire, but they do have limited supply. So first in best dressed!

* Long-sleeved shirt / jacket, long pants, closed-in shoes with socks. Shoes with thin, flat soles are suggested, but are not required.

* Please ensure that your car is in good working order before arriving at the track (See Norm's (libsti) previous post for check list for more detailed info). Make sure to check your engine, brakes, tyres, suspension. Also, make sure you top up all your fluids. It is an expensive exercise to tow your car if it breaks down, not to mention an end to your trackday.

* Wakefield Park also charges a track license fee (Payable on the day) It costs $20 for a daily license, or $50.00 or a yearly license. If you currently hold a CAMS L2S License or above, just flash your CAMS license.

* Please have correct change for any cash payments on the day (Now that we have 20+ people confirmed, we are able to offer this :D )

The Café will be open all day. So no need to pack a lunch! Please take advantage of this as they are open only on request & do not receive any funds from Wakefield Park Raceway for their service.

Directions on getting to Wakefield

Please see the link below which gives more details about getting to the track:

http://wakefieldpark.com.au/index.php?o ... &Itemid=56

The address is 4770 Braidwood Rd, Goulburn NSW 2580

I am aiming to get down to the track around 8:00 am with my Newcastle possie :P + a few others from my local area. Aiming to leave the Shire around 5:30 – 5:45 am, which should allow us time to have breakfast on the way down. Travel time (Shire - Wakefield) is approx 2 hours.

More then happy to meet up with others along the way, otherwise I’ll see you down there :D

Cheers
Matt

PS - Thanks Trieu for the help with this plan :D

Looking good Matt, it's all coming together.

Did anyone want to meet up for the drive down?

I'll be heading down with a few cars or happy to meet there :)

In my hast to get all / more info posted, I forgot a few valuable things (Thanks Trieu for reminding me :D ).

As Wakefield is approx 10kms from Goulburn, it is wise to bring some extra fuel in jerry cans. That way you don't have to leave the track to get it! You can pick up jerry cans (10L & larger) from Bunnings for around $12.00.

If you are planning on bring some jerry cans down, some sort of syphon maybe a wise investment also. The easiest ones to use are what I call a "jiggle syphon" (If they have a technical name, I don't know it :P ). I'm aiming to have one on the day, so if you can't locate one, don't panic :D

Also, due to the higher speeds you will be travelling, your tyre pressures will get much higher then normal... This can cause major problems when it comes to grip. So bringing a tyre gauge & something to help let down the tyres is always a wise thing to have :D

For info, those running 225/40 18's... You should be hitting the track with around 32 psi in your tyres... :D This will build up fairly quickly to your 37-40 psi running pressures.

if anyone wants to meet at the crossroads at casula in front of clive peters we could drive down together, meet there at 6am and then meet up for brekkie and fuel at mcdonalds / BP after the goulburn turnoff.

matt is it ok to add this option to the first post to keep it under control?

Clive Peeeeeters meetup sounds good to me.

Is it worth bringing radios along? Thinking that if we have someone watching all the time we might be able to warn guys on track

Oh and make sure you've got plenty of warm clothes if you are planning on spending any time outside the car down there

Not a drama mate. Now that we have minimum numbers confirmed we can include a few late arrivals :)

Give me a buzz next week when you know what's happening :D

Sounds like we're going to have 3 groups going down :P 1 from the Shire (Clearly the better group :P heheheheheheheh ), 1 from the west & 1 from Canberra...

Good idea about the radios mate... I was going to bring mine mainly for the drive down, but it wouldn't be a bad thing to have while we're on the track just incase of the worst... In saying that, I don't know how much I'll be hearing with my helmet on :P
