Small problem with mountains run - crapload of roadworks at Leura/Katoomba, there was some on the way to Bathurst but I dont think its too bad.

I'd be keen if we have a date?

Well if there's a heap of road works, then it might be a bit of a kill joy.

We could just do a Hwy cruise down to the Gong & maybe head up to Robertson up Mac pass?

OK for all those keen for a mountains run, heres the deal.

Im keen to organise a day cruise up the mountains-maybe even worthwhile inviting OZLib members also just to get numbers up along with other people who have the common interest.

Id really like to organise this as a fun, family orientated day as opposed to a fang session. An oppertunity for people with a common interest (by common interest Im refering to Subaru Liberty's) to get together, have a chat, enjoy a meal, have some laughs, take some photos, get to know each other and most importantly, have a bucketload of fun.

Just curious to know what peoples opinions are on some things.

1. Saturday 14/6, 21/6 or Sunday 15/6, 22/6
2. Take away style lunch (McDonalds) or BBQ facilities
3. Would Penrith be a suitable meeting point for most

There is a few different routes which could be taken up the mountains. So I will look into into these over the next few days. My thoughts at this stage are......

Leave Penrith, head out towards Richmond. Head up Springwood Rd past Yarramundi (good twisties for some fun  ) Stop at Hawkesbury Lookout for some photos and a regroup (good photo location). Jump onto Great Western Hwy at Valley Heights and cruise up towards Katoomba. Stop for lunch somewhere and regroup. Then head towards Evans lookout for some photos and awesome views. And end the day by cruising all the way back towards Penrith via Great Western Hwy.

So come on guys, give me some feedback and a list of those interested. Lets plan a good fun day for all to enjoy. Im open to any and all suggestions.

14th & 15th are out for sure.

Other dates don't bother me at all. More then happy to come along no matter what we do.

Suggest meeting somewhere more central like Homebush would be a better choice.

I did a cruise with Peaty (owner of Scoobymods.com) earlier in the year, left Blaxland Maccas at 10 and stopped at a few places through the mountains, got to Bathurst & went to the O'Connell pub for lunch & then a couple of laps & pictures up on Panorama, I got home (Lithgow) about 4 but Kevin & Peaty went out to Blackfellows hands for some offroading.

Im keen for a Bathurst run. However it would require an earlier starting time. I agree it would be a great opportunity for photos.

Would Liverpool be a more central meeting point for all?

Maybe as an example........

Meet at Liverpool Krispy Kreme 8AM, have breakfast next door at McDonalds, depart at 9AM, cruise all the way up Great Western Hwy. Some stops along the way for photos and regroup. Lunch at Elizabeth Park Bathurst (close to McDonalds, KFC, Hungry Jacks etc). Early afternoon photo shoot at the mountain then cruise back.

Would this be more suitable for you.

Sounds pretty good to me.

But lets set the date a fair bit off in the future. Let the word get around & all that. As its a big day out, I'm sure people will want to get their families involved etc.

great idea meeting at liverpool and hitting m7 all the way through to richmond road and then taking bells line, its alot more fun then the great western , bells line will lead to all the way to lithgow, also there heaps of places to stop for photos if you take the small roads off bells lines.

If you're gonna head west just don't come back down the Gt Western Hwy on a sunday arvo.

Roadworks make it a nightmare run (crawl).

Lets set it for the 19/20 or 26/27 July, have to make sure there's nothing on at Mt Panorama though.
