sorry for my not knowing but what does that entail... is it a race category?

speaking of race categories, the V8 supercar record is 59.0391

TECHNICAL

What is a Sports Sedan?

A Sports Sedan is simply Australia's fastest saloon racing car.

A sports sedan must be derived from a mass-produced car where more than 5000 examples of the model have been built in one year. Naturally, each Sports Sedan must be fitted with a roll cage and include all other safety features and an engine size restricted to 6 litres capacity.

These 'wild and winged' Sports Sedans are motor racing's most modified machines. Under most generaously broad rules, constructors can build wild and wonderful works of mechanical art that originated from the family car.

The Sports Sedans category is one where freedom of expression is regarded a a legitimate means to an end - and that end in performance, and lots of it.

"Thundering 700 horsepower V8's, whispering turbo's and wailing rotaries"

The typical V8 Sports Sedan would consist of:
A 700 Hp Chevrolet V8 fuel injected engine
A space frame chassis with a body shell and composite bolt on panels, typically weighting 1000kg

Large rear wings to generate enormous down force

6 speed transmission with independent suspension

State of the art engine management and data acquisition systems capable of propelling the car to 310kph

Hi All

Spoke to Wakefield this morning & they mentioned they also do "Day Licenses" :D So for those new to the track & are just wanting to give it a go, you have a lower cost option :D Pricing is as follows:

Wakefield License:

1 Day = $20.00

1 Year = $50.00

Obviously the 1 year license is without a doubt the best value for money, but if your unsure if you will get a chance to go there again within the 12 months, the 1 Day option saves you come cash :D

Hi All

Just a reminder that I need to start collecting the fees for the track day.

I know I know, it is still a long way off... But if we are to cancel the day, Wakefield has to be advised by the middle of this month... So I need to have people locked in.

The master list in the first post has been kept up to date in regards to who has & has not paid their deposits etc.

As of right now we have 15 people confirmed, therefore costs are as follows:

Track Hire = $294.00

Wakefield License (To Be Paid On The Day) = $50.00 (1 Year) / $20.00 (1 Day)

We can sort out the optional stuff (IE - Timing, instructor etc) closer to the date.

As stated previously, if more people do become involved (Therefore lower costs), any additional funds that have been paid will be refunded to you on the day.

If anyone has any questions, please do not hesitate to PM me :D

Cheers
Matt

I wish i had the funds to spare to come to this. The only time I have been around Wakefield was with a mate in his R32 GT-R for half a lap until he destroyed his engine all because he was using the wrong oil apparently.
