I'm going to the Top-gear live show on Sunday arvo @ 2pm, with my brother.
I was thinking of having lunch & a drink at the Brewery before the show if any one wants to catch up.

The show was alright, but I think it was far too into the Advertising aspect of the car industry, then again what would you expect in a huge automotive event like this. Some of the banter was entertaining between Hammond and Clarkson, but Steve from TGA was unconvincing.. yes he was like a secondary host to the UK guys. Highlight of the show was the car soccer and the 3D segment IMO.. and maybe the Cool Wall (audience participation). Overall yes it was pretty much exactly like a LIVE version of the show (contained all the usual segments), but for a ticketed event I expected it to be more... Stunts were ho-hum..

Anybody else care to share their experiences?

Oh yeh and I did catch a little of the live music outside the stadium. Great free show! Not really my type of music though but free stuff FTW lol

I was fortunate enough to get a last minute (5:30pm) invite to last Thursday night's show (I think it was the first) in the VIP area.

I kinda have to agree, I think it was okay, but if I had to pick one word I would say 'underwhelmed'. There were some entertaining bits, and it was good to see, but I think if I had paid I woul dhave been a little disappointed.

Though after the show we were able to wander around (as in up to and touch) the cars used in the show - Konneggseggnennnggg, DB9, Lambo, etc etc... NICE cars... the Konneggseggnennngggm gets 15.8L to the 100kms according to the sticker... wow!

I do hope the guys who go today enjoy the show... !

edit: the VIP area had Hammond and Clarkson (and Steve) come down for a Q&A after the show - the acoustics were SHOCKING...

Not something I will be telling people to go and see. It was 'ok' but nothing spectacular, better off spending the money fromt he ticket sale on a Top Gear DVD.

We enjoyed it, The show went VERY quick, it could have gone a bit longer IMO.
I was expecting a lot more biff in the soccer game considering it was the second last match for Sydney.
True the stunt driving could have been a bit more dangerous, but there was still some tricky driving
& it was also good to see them taking the piss out of each other & may who wasnt there, they were also saying things they couldnt normally because of the censours

Totally agree with cj, could have been longer but there is only so much you can do in an area that small. But overall i thought it was excellent.
So who else got top of the lap times?
