Will definitely come down to support the team, but I've never been interested in taking my cars down the 1/4... seems kind of pointless to me with an AWD car...

Happy to come down and watch though!

If you are willing to put your car on a Dyno then you should go to the drags. Way more accuarate gauge for the power of the car.

Not the ET but the MPH

True enough... I have never built my cars for numbers though Shane... Only ever been on a dyno for tuning purposes! ;)

I may be persuaded to come down and give it a crack, just saying its not high on my priority listing!

There is zero chance that the red mist would not come down if I was on the start line Andrew! :D I would not be able to help trying to launch it hard... Image

bump for date set for drags

taken from Perth-WRX so please reply to me if interested.

As per title, Perth WRX has a lane booked at the Quit Motorplex. Whoop Ass Wednesday session, 28th October 2009.

This event will suit the hardened weekend warrior and the absolute infant first timer. A few people will be on hand to give you pointers and answer any questions you may have so please come on down and give it a go, always makes for an entertaining night out!

Basic info:

All you need to compete is a roadworthy (unlicenced, yellow sticker ok) muffled Street Car or Bike and clothing requirements as below;
Road worthy closed cars (Sedans/Utes etc) Min clothing, a helmet and long sleeves, long pants and enclosed footware.

If your helmet is over 12 years old then it is probably not acceptable for use on the Drag Strip. Look for the following markings to check if your helmet is ok to use for racing. Sometimes the label is under the padding inside the helmet.

Full or Open Face Helmets bearing any of these standards are acceptable;
SNELL SA 2000, SA 2005, SFI 31.2 (US)
SNELL M 2000, M2005, SFI 41.2 (US)
BS 6658-85 Type A (British)
SNELL 2000/2005 - SFI 31.1 (US)
BS 6658-1985 Type A/FR (British)
AS/NZS 1698/2006 (AS/NZS 1698) < Note this new standard

Competitor Entry 5:00pm
Spectator Entry 5:30pm
