We could meet at say 7 to 7.30 and start the cruise at 8pm if everyone is happy with that?

No earlier than 8pm on Fridays for me, but I can catch up mid cruise.

Cops are more... ahem... "hardworking" on Fridays and Saturdays night, so straight pipes not so great :p

So 7pm at burswood? Mabey if that's too full could meet at coles in Vic park. Not only is it closer to my house there's a nandoes and jesters and subway there. Just a thought.

Or meet at the bunnings on corner of canning and Berwick. Its close to the cas and shouldn't be busy, plus there's fast food close by

BUT I WANT FLAMES

I should be OK for this. Friday night isn't my fav night as I am usually keenackered from work but if that's the night it falls on then I will surely come along.

As for recording audio, I am a recording engineer hobbiest and have recorded, mixed and mastered mostly music but I am sure I could sort something out to get a clean recording of the tunnel run. The hardest thing to deal with will be the vibration and wind noise generated not only by the atmosphere but also the mic moving along in the car. I planned to try a few things out with mumbles too but not quite managed it yet. I do intend to experiment with different condenser and passive mics though with some make shift air diffusers... sounds technical eh... mainly big bits of foam wrapped round the head haha.

I am sure we can all try different methods and come up with something awesome!!

Everyone want's flames, but we don't want stickers! :)

Burswood will be full at 7PM. I know as I used to work dayshifts and we'd finish at 8PM. They all start rolling in at about 7-7:30. Need a more secluded area. Lit well and less attraction for BOW (Bacon On Wheels). A Bunnings Car Park would actually be perfect for this. Hoping Bunnings is more centralized for everyone. :)

As for Champ, we'd probably be rolling out at about 8PM anyway, until everyone (or a majority) arrive. We'll have a set road plan so you'd be able to find us easily enough.. Or just listen out for us. :D

I got plenty of free time next week so I can draw up a map or something if that's easier for everyone?

JUNE NIGHT CRUISE - Friday 14th June 2013

Postby JDGT05 » Sat Apr 20, 2013 11:20 am

Yeah I'm gonna get a straight pipe fabbed up me thinks (free of charge) the only reason I'd be doing it haha.

In terms of audio I've tried tunnel runs before with my go pro, with a wind diffuser. Noise is still average. Best results I've seen on track day footage, is when the go pro is outside and the external mic is placed right near the exhaust or inside the car.

Keen as for this!

Just to be clear, what part are you getting straight? Or the whole lot? I was thinking of just doing the cat as it's easy enough for me to do myself

Just the muffler man, this is one I had fabbed up on my last exhaust. I have since sold and got a custom exhaust now though.

So I'll have to get another one welded up. To suit the new exhaust

How about this route?

http://goo.gl/maps/JMKBo

Pretty much like John Mac suggested.

1st Stop - I reckon either Karrinyup Shops or Scarborough Beach so those of you that haven't had the chance to get some food can get some. Karrinyup has HJ's and KFC, Scarborough has a few food establishments as well.

2nd Stop - E-Shed @ Fremantle. Think this might be a good photo location (not sure what it's like at night though).

3rd/Final Stop - Rockingham Beach. Depending on time and if enough people want to go down that far.

Then most of us will freeway it back and take our relevant exits home.
