Perth meet and detail day Sat May 16th

Postby GTSPECB STI » Thu Apr 23, 2009 11:28 am

Hi Ben

I reckon you bring what you would normally use on your car. I will provide the karcher and hose. I reckon if we did it right we could do several in an assembly line type set up. Some wash, some chamois off, some detail, some clean the insides. Looks like we will be doing some sway bar installs as well.

Why do I get the feeling that my attendance to this is mandatory ???

Ill do the sway bars, and one of you guys can show me the finer points on clay bar's.. the paint work on my sedan is absolutely shit (no other word properly describes it) lots of clear coat scratches & blemishes, plus there is a lot of rust speckling where some smart bastard did some angle grinding near the car (no, not me) and the hot metal shards have embedded into the clear coat and rusted

For the record, you all need 2 day passes for this weekend, as REXPO is conveniently on the following day... and there will be no "dirty car" excuses! :D

yes in a way...I own the house but rent it to my best mate who is also a car enthusiast. We have it pretty well sorted and there is heaps of room to work there as the back yard is huge and has two garages plus plenty of paved parking. We refer to this place as Switzerland as its a refugee for blokes who want to work on their cars and watch footy, cricket, etc and perhaps sink a few beers :D

I'm betting it's gonna be wheel ramps :-)

Next you'll be asking for a block and tackle :-)

Dave - Disappointed you haven't invested in a hoist!

funny you should say that...this house is going to get knocked down in another 18 months and we going to build new home on it complete with a large garage, workshop and granny flat at the rear of the block...just gotta try a figure out the hoist bit with the missus now.

Dianella on top of the hill, locals call it the golden triangle. Close to the golf course.

I thought the requirement for fitting swaybars was that the wheels need to be at driving level?

In which case, the ramps would be the better way to do it?
