Hey guys!
New blood here and looking for a meetup / cruise to get to know some of the people, and I noticed VIC has been a little lacking in the meet ups.
So if anyone is keen on a July meet / cruise register your interest here.
Not really sure what a good place to meet is but I wouldn't mind a drive up the Dandenong ranges, couple of good cafe's up there too.
Doesn't *have* to be July either, even August is fine, as long as we get something planned.

Hey mate.
Vic has the record for the largest meet on the forums! And that wasn't that long ago. LOL. We've had a few smaller smaller meets and cruises since then, but it's been hectic for some reason! Everyone is busy.
I agree about a catch up. Prob is, no-one likes arranging the cruises due to the amount of work it takes for doing scout runs, notes, etc. Maybe just a meet up might suit people more? I love the cuises though, especially the big one up through the spur! Yeehhaa! Lol.

Oh man. I missed that Spur run

Meet up or cruise does sound good though

Just not this weekend.

Can you detail what is involved in a 'scout run' and what notes need to be taken. Would that be someone who would just drive for example the Spur an hour or so before the cruise is supposed to happen to look for Cops / any fallen over trees or objects on the road? I would love a Spur run but I figured that is too far for most people to go.
Oh also I need to buy new tyres before I would attempt anything like a Spur run, as 2 of mine are just about on the tread indicators!
Wouldn't mind getting a couple of my mods done before a cruise either so I don't rock up in a stock as a rock GT.B, luckily a few of the items are already in the mail

It depends if you've driven the planned route before. Obviously some "hands on" experience will tel you if it's a fun drive.
Google maps makes planning, and time estimating a hell of a lot easier now.
FYI, I had my 100,000 service today, and they said I urgently needed to replace three of the tyres.

Been worrying about MG repairs, and not paid much attention to the Liberty tyres. Another back tyre was down to the canvas on an inside shoulder.
I have a brand new spare, but I'm still up for three new tyres. 3x $450 for new RE050A's

While on the subject of Tyres, what would you recommend for my stock Rim's?
I have the spare so I'll only need 3 new tyres, don't want to be spending $450 on each tyre like you are though that's pretty insane! was hoping more like $300 each?

I'd be up for a meetup (more likely if it was tied in with a cruise as well or photoshoot etc). One way to ensure success is to plan weeks ahead in consultation with people as to the date, so you get the max number of attendees.
I'm free all weekend of 24th July, 21st August....

Assuming you also have 18" wheels, there's not a lot of choice in the 215/45R18 size.
Full retail on the RE050A's is close to $500, $450 is a good price.
Subaru dealers themselves are now stocking Pirelli P zeros, but they're only slightly cheaper.
There's a bit of discussion about using 225/40R18 and 235/40R18 sizes in the tyres forum.

I'd be happy to help organise something.
if we plan to do a nice big cruise in August, it gives plenty of time to plan route, meet up points and enough time for people to clear their schedule.
i used to organise cruises for a commodore club i used to admin (i was 16 haha), and we organised a cruise of about 250 cars at one point.

Sounds good! Reminds me of the MCCR cruises, they were CRAZY (pretty dangerous though lol).
