I think its the deadening maybe having gone to close up t the door hinges?

I think so, we did too good a job! :P

Oh well, the door still opens, it's not falling off, that's a win in my books!

Very happy with it thus far.

BTW: Craig; Did you pinch one of my yellow handled flat head screw drivers? :)

I unpacked my stuff last night and didn't see it, but I'll have another look today. I did manage to get my yellow and black striped Stanley one, but didn't see any other. I know the exact one your talking about though, I used it last on your passenger door to pull out some plugs. :-)

Maybe have a look around the foot wells and under the seats, it may be under the edge of a mat or something.

Also, when you say 'very happy thus far' do you mean it's quieter in there?

The creak could be from the sound deadener putting pressure on the door trim, and causing it to rub against either the side of the dash or doorsill area. Best way to find out is to wait a week or so and see if there are any witness marks in any areas. In that case you would really need to remove the door trim, cut back some of the sound deadening or reposition some wiring looms etc to relief the pressure :)

Yeah I went out until dawn and still made it, pfft! Although I was still a bit wobbly and had backwards vision when I was cutting one of the pieces for Tangles' car lol.

Yeah, I think there is difference in quietness. And the sound system just seems clearer. I think when I do the right rear door, I will be completely satisfied.

I will have to do what Jim suggested: Wait and see what happens if there are any wear marks. All our work was done with door wide open, so perhaps didn't completely allow for room when it is shut??

I will have to look again for my screw driver..... I normally misplace stuff and this time, I was making a real conscious effort to put things back, and hold onto everything :) . Alas, it still didn't work.

For mine it's def not the trim rubbing on the dash. Creaking starts when the door is fully disengaged. I think it's the hinge.

The interesting thing about deadening the car is that because all other road noise and rattling is cut down, you start to hear all the OTHER noises/creaks that you'd normally never hear because it's too noisey!!!

It's probably a relube of the door hinge and the jobs done. :-)

After I deadened my car, found a nasty rattle!!! It turned out to be stuff in my glove box and cup holders (keys, glasses)

damn those things look tacky :P

First trip tonight over 80kmh down eastlink - was like I was driving at 60. radio at 15 and still listenable, conversation at normal levels.

oh... for the stock (non-crapintosh) stereo - from bass +1, mid +3 and treb +7 (I like it crisp) to bass 0, mid 0, treb +3.

definitely a meatier sound from the near magnet-less light-weight paper cone spkrs (hell.. the tweeters weighed more...)

in my opinion worth the effort for the quieter ride.

oh... I also think the ride is a little more solid... could be my imagination...

Great feedback Will and exactly what people can expect from doing this mod!
I assume you got 1 layer on all 4 doors done by the end of the day?

Has your better half noticed any difference? Like the doors not rattling when she shuts them?

Last night I had my first freeway ride down the eastern, and I can say that the ride is DEFINITELY quieter.

My door clicking noise seems to have subsided as well, so I won't have to pull the trim off to check!

Still on the hunt for my little yellow screw driver. haha
