Mornington Peninsular Cruise - Monday 8 June

Guys & Gals,

We are gonna cruise, with or without you, on Sunday, 7 June. Yes it is the long weekend, and the Sunday is the least likely day for traffic congestion in that part of our state.

I have done some surveying of potential routes this weekend that start at Mornington , the coast road south to Dromana, Arthurs Seat (ascent), Flinders, then Boneo Road to Sorrento. That will take about 1.5 hours with one stop at Arthurs Seat (for the view).

I propose a light lunch (takeaway/sandwich/coffee) in Sorrento and head out to the coastal area carpark for lunch, and a break.

Then head back to Arthurs Seat via Browns Road and Purves Road to tackle the descent. At the bottom, take in McRae's Beach, Dromana then cut over to Hastings. Back up the Westernport to Thompson's Road. Done!

Image

I tried to get all the twisty bits in, but this is as much as I can find. Open to anyone with a Liberty wanting to cruise!

There will be good photo ops on the descent of Arthurs Seat. CB radios essential so bring em along. I will bring a pair myself. Mobile Phone numbers are also handy if someone gets lost. We can do that by PM if you need or just give it at the start.

Please confirm your interest by Saturday, 6 June, so I can put up last minutes notes if needed (e.g. change of car park if it is not big enough for us).

Hope to see you there!

Kind Regards,

Mark.

Mark - you've outdone yourself! Brilliant - I love those roads! You've got the roads up through Red Hills yeah?

If you need any further help, let me know (I know, I've been slack in the last few weeks, but I've been working on my car... Honest, see my project thread!)

Cheers

EDIT - My misses just told me wait.... O'oh...

Well, no takers so far. As I am not locked in to any particular day, we can shift to either Saturday or Monday?

We will go with majority rules then. Get your votes coming in.

Kind Regards,

Mark.

Hin249,

We don't wait for sunny weather in Melbourne, otherwise you don't get anywhere. We just go and savour the five minutes of sunshine we may happen to get!

In any case, you own a Liberty don't you! AWD, wet & windy roads, there are not too many vehicles that can savour those conditions, as long as we remain on the cautious side and allow for the 2wd drivers that don't get out often!

I will be going regardless, that's just me.

Kind Regards,

Mark.

Hey Ric,

We may change the day to either Saturday or Monday if we get any takers. Can you change the topic to read:

Mornington Peninsular Cruise - June Long Weekend

Kind Regards,

Mark.
