Nice little meet!
3 cars plus mine...

We used a nexus7 running Btssm to make learning views and datalogs of the cars.

See www.Btssm.com for deets, its a $25 android app that can use a variety of android and non elm327 hardware.

The owners then went on a 15 minute logging drive, I’ve not yet peeped the logs: who knows what they got up to, but there’s 100kph freeway ramps locally, so... :P

See below for a quick review of each cars Learning View and a dropbox link to the driving logs the chaps made on local roads.
I use and recommend MegaLog Viewer for peeing logs, lmk if you have a better free solution!

Stan was first up and had to endure me finishing up my inlet pressure re re re re test.

On that subject: it seems ok, we could hear a tiny tic tic tic, maybe a return hose but nothing major: 1psi to 0psi inlet leak down takes around a minute.
If anything’s amiss, its going to need smoking to find the issue.
Next up: exhaust pressure test then retune to account for all the leaks it was last tuned with 3 or 4 years ago.

Stan has a lovely silver 06 tbSTi 5eat sedan, not tuned, 120k  mostly stock apart from a k&n filter and some Aeroball skirts & rear diffuser.

LV: 0.9 IAM some knock & fuel corrections: suggest reverting to stock panel filter, clean maf and see if LV improves.

In particular we see IAM has dropped, the fuel corrections are whack, to the point I’d defo suggest inlet, exhaust, crankcase & pcv tests.
If I spent less time yakking we might have achieved those tests, but next time.

Ian’s SWP my08 GT-b 6mt, 170k, not tuned.

Has oil evidence on passenger head, under ps pump (oring) and the inlet at the turbo end.

LV not perfect but not bad:
Suggest UV oil dye kit, replace oring, clean engine & do UV checks, crankcase & inlet pressure tests: confirm no boost/vac leaks, ensure PCV valve & hoses working properly.

If the turbo end of the inlet pipe is almost wet, it’s a sure fire sign of crankcase oil control issues (very common) which lead to the inlet rotting and many related issues, eg stuck pcv, leaking pcv hoses, turbo drain restriction...

Adrian’s burgundy my06 5eat wagon 70k km , looking really mint and rolling on gunmetal tc105n, ado8r’s and silvers.

This car was fettled and tuned by GIR with all the sensible mods including an avo tmic, silicone inlet & tb hoses and a three port:all essential reliability mods.

This was reflected in a clean LV with a tiny bit of correction up top.
Defo the star car of the day, looking as correct as it’s probably running!

Hey benny,

I don't suppose you can health check a 1993 Mitsubishi GTO Twin turbo?

Absolutely. But I’d need a spare oil cap if different from subaru, and the internal diameter of the next soft pipe after the engine air filter.

That’s for pressure checks.

For ecu diagnostics I’d have to research that. :good:

Looking forward to meeting y’all especially Kimmo :)

Just a reminder:

I just want to remind everyone the meet is in a 30km/h zone!

We absolutely do not want any WOT in the area, when there are various 100k freeway entrances less than 5 min away. Don’t be that guy/gal that ruins it for everyone.

This wasn’t an issue last time, so thanks very much for your maturity: everyone.

Can you do transmission diag as well as engine? I know it's a long shot with a '93 ECU and TCU interface. coz it's got a bit of funny who-hah going on when shifting. It could be something stupid like a flywheel issue but I think it's just the synchro between 1st and 2nd gear as the car is too fast to get out of 2nd most of the time.

Let me know when you feel good to go and I'll bring it next health check day in 2021

Cheers, Leon: agreed!
Absolutely awesome turnout: all MVP’s and heavy hitters, nothing but dedicated Subaru fans, and a very special MR2 and stealth Golf :P

Pics logs LV’s etc tomz.
If anyone is keen I’ll have the dropbox links asap.

I have to say, knocking out LV’s and sending individuals out on their own to log their cars as they wish, its a hella excuse for a get together

Honoured to have weaselbee, and her ladyships very on point skids taking over :)

Hey Spike, get in touch with sick chips on FB, aka MadmanSean here: 15 years ecu experience at the highest level.

So good to meet you Sean after 5+ years!!! Mind blown

HNY youse :P

Thanks BBB for sharing the results and commentary. Helps us all who don't have opportunities to get to meets like this!

It's a rare thing to see so many Libertys together these days as well!
