Fiberglass workshop: fix your lip etc.

If anyone would like to fix theirs too I'd be happy to share materials and skillz
Basically I've been wanting to learn paint prep and so I'm beginning from the ground up with fiberglass repairs and bumper prep.

I bought a fiberglass kit for $50 from my local chandler. I then went to my local paint shop and asked about auto fillers and paint prep supplies.
They kindly suggested I go to an auto paint specialist Paint Center on Somerville Rd Sunshine http://goo.gl/maps/ZpeJT
I explained what I wanted to the staff, namely hobby sized quantities of the materials to get me going with the lip and strake repair.
The $50 fiberglass kit from the chandler is fine but Paint Center had two better options at around $36 and $50, both with more material and the bigger kit with acetone, for shifting dirt etc that Prepsol won't, (acetone is stronger). Motorspray is the brand name.
I needed some sandpaper and wet n' dry, and the boss advised to not go too fine at this stage, since the paint needs a decent key to adhere to.
Thus I wound up with 120 and 180 for the coarse leveling of the harder Reo Fill and 240, 400, 600 for leveling the softer fills.
The staff at Paint Center were really helpful with sorting out my list so I didn't buy too much or too little or have any necessary duplication of similar items.
So with a couple of cool discounts, thanks, the kit of Reo Fill (has short fiberglass strands for strength), Spot Putty, Bumper Fill (its flexible) and 5 grades of paper came to $50. Total spend so far $100, still required: a little chicken wire.
