RACV & AOMC - CLASSIC SHOWCASE AT FLEMINGTON - APR 21

Postby Ric » Fri Apr 12, 2013 9:21 am

http://www.aomc.asn.au/B&Eshow13.htm

Big display of old UK and European cars, including MG, Mercedes Benz, Peugeot, Austin Healey, Morris, etc.
Open to the public from 10am to 3pm. $12 entry.
I'll be there with my MGA, and my dad's MGTD.

The site plan gives you an idea what brands will be there, and how many of each.

There was a bit of a scare that neither of our cars would be ready.

My MGA was at National Windscreens waiting for a new windscreen because of a non-repairable chip I got on the way up to Queensland over Easter.
They haven't found a new one that fits yet, so gave me the car back with the old screen still in it.

Dad's MG-TD would not start after the four hour trailer ride up from Portland last weekend.
I spent three days on it, then took it to the mechanic on Wed morning.
New set of points and spark plugs, and it's running nicely again :)

Is anyone coming for a look?

Thanks for posting this Ric. I went down this afternoon and checked it out. Great! Better than the last Motorclassica I went to.

If I may indulge with some photos...

Even had the sniper scope in the glove box like the film.

Seems somebody is copying Ric's style...

Plenty more awesome cars too. :D Recommended for next year or the American edition when that happens.

<Edit>: Sorry photos are a bit oversized. Right click and save to see them fully.
I got this plan. It's called 'Save Ass'. And the way it works is this - I slip outta one of these windows and I run like a bastard!

It looks like you got there pretty late. Had I already gone?

Here's my car next to the only other one in my class.

Yeah, I was quite late getting there...I didn't see your car(s) anywhere either. :(
Congratulations on your prize though! :good:
