For anyone who is interested in old cars, there is going to be a huge Historic Hillclimb at Rob Roy this Sunday.
The Rob Roy track is 75 years old this year, and some of the old original cars will be running. There are 114 entries!

Here's some of the cars that ran last year: http://s1092.beta.photobucket.com/user/ ... imb%202011
and a couple of years ago: http://gallery.mgcc.info/2009-hist-and- ... /index.htm

I'm going to be running my MGA, and there is a new trophies for "fastest MGA", which six of us will by vying for.
It's $10 entry, or $15 for a carload.

It was a good day. Perfect conditions, with the temperature just right for good tyre grip.
My best ever time is 29.04 seconds, and I did a 29.09. My first run was pretty average coz one of the plug leads had worked it's way out of the distributor cap, so it was missing all the way up :(
Because there were so many cars running, we only got three runs each. I may have broken 29 seconds if that first run hadn't been wasted...

There's a writeup of the day here: http://www.cams.com.au/States/Victoria/State_News/2012/Rob_Roy_75th_Anniversary.aspx

Looks like a fun day. That's a great spot on the hill there to watch the action! :o
Can't wait for the season to start next year!

There's another "come and try day" planned for Feb-12 next year, an historic event on April-28, a round of the Hillclimb championship on May-5, and the first round of the interclub championship on Jun-23.

The whole schedule is at http://www.mgcc.com.au/robroy/index.shtml
