I'm thinking it's time for a Melbourne meetup. Probably just a small social gathering, maybe a coffee, photoshoot etc.

Anyone interested? Please state whereabouts in Melbourne you are located (or close to for privacy reasons) and what times suit you.

me: Camberwell-ish, evenings or weekends.

Well I was the only one who rolled up to Calder park on Saturday night... ;)
(in fact, I didn't bother pushing that, as my father came along, and I would have been tied up :))

I'm in Gladstone Park (i.e. part of Tullamarine). Weeknights are awkward, so weekends suit me better :).

I actually remembered it, but I was busy (as I stated in the thread) and something else came along too... got my STi quadtip exhaust fitted :D and then I had a photography job to do in the afternoon, as well...

I would be up for a meet up sometime.
I'm outer east, but travel all over the city for work.
Camberwell is a good spot, easy parking, lots of good coffee places.

Ric, I completely forgot about Calder, was out for dinner anyway. How did the MG go?

Count me in...

I'm in South Melbourne, work in the CBD. would love to see what people have done to their cars.. I've got a guy in my apartment building with a 07 STi Lib GT.. sometimes i'm tempted to steal his rims.. but would look odd, his rims get stolen and then opposite his car spot is a black lib GT with newly acquired STi rims..

So when we cruising?

Like I said, it was going to get a bit complicated for me, so I didn't push it :)

Calder was a bit disorganised because of the rain. Apparently the drag strip has some super sticky asphalt on it, which goes super slippery when it gets wet. They ended up placing traffic cones right down the first half of the main straight, only wide enough for one car, and said we had to stay between them to stay on the normal asphalt in between the drag strips.

That went ok for the first three of six groups, but some idiot blew his engine, and kept driving, spreading oil all over the extended part of the "national circuit", so they had to stop everythign, and restart using the shorter "club circuit".

I had one "off" at the end of the back straight. After a couple of quick laps, I thought I must have locked the front wheels coz I wasn't slowing as quick as expected, so I eased off on the brake pedal and hit the corner too quick. Then worked out it was just the brake pads overheating and not stopping as well, I wasn't locked at all.
Only thing damaged was one headlight bulb lost low beam, the rough grass must have knocked one filement loose, which I noticed a bit later when we were doing drags in the dark... ;)
I had two quarter mile drags against the only other MGA equivalent to me, and think we came a dead heat both times!
I don't know the results yet, maybe tomorrow night.
