The Victorian Hillclimb Panel are conducting a "come and try" day at Rob Roy Hillclimb on Sunday September 30.

This is a chance to try driving up a real hillclimb track, either with or without an experienced driver in the car with you.
The costs are:
$25 entry fee
$25 for a one day competitor licence (not needed if you already have a CAMS L2S or superior licence)
$5 for one day membership of the MG Car Club (not needed if you are already a member of a CAMS affiliated car club. The WRX club is CAMS affiliated, club.liberty is not.)

So, $55 total if you need club membership AND a competition licence.

The only requirement for your car is a fire extinguisher in a solid metal mounting.
The WRX club sell a bracket that bolts onto the front seat mounts. These are about $75 (including extinguisher) if you are NOT a member of their club ($65 if you are)

I can loan mine to ONE person for the day.

Please let me know if you are interested in attending. Anyone can come and just look for free. :)

Put me down as a spectator for this one. If it does not clash with a cruise!

:( :( I was so excited when I saw this, until I searched some clips and realized how boring the track is. I would really love to hit up a slightly more challenging hill climb track

Haunted Hills is a lot more challenging, but you're almost certain to damage your car if you run off the track.
Rob Roy is a good beginners venue, and it is still difficult to keep a Liberty on the track if you're going flat out. ;)

Yeh that's the one my friends did a couple of months ago. I was in sydney when they went and I missed out unfortunately.

If you want a look, there is a historic hillclimb on this coming Sunday.
There is a small entry fee, about $10 per person, or $15 per car I think.

Have a look at http://www.theage.com.au/national/melbo ... 242nm.html

The "come and try day" is coming up this Sunday.
Is anyone still coming? My fire extinguisher holder is still available for the first request. :)

It makes things simpler if you email it in beforehand.

We've received 100 pre-entries for Sunday, so we cannot accept any on the day now.
