Melb-Warrnambool

What's the best route to get from Melb Airport to Warrnambool? And approx time doing that route?

Great Ocean Road seems nice, but would take much, much longer to arrive in Warrnambool right?

the trip from Melbourne to warrnambool isnt too bad, because it doesnt take long.
The great ocean road is a great drive, and a must in a good car.

i did the drive in a Hyundai I MAX full of people, wasnt too fun.

Warrnambool as a town is great :) definitely would love to go back there again

Not sure Warrnambool is a great town. It's OK.

I'd go GOR on the way there, freeway back if you want to experience it but are under a time restraint.

Take the Hamilton hwy and turn off at mortlake down to warrnambool, used to go down there lots and that was the quickest and easiest way. The way through colac has too many towns to go through.

That way is a lot quieter, but the Colac way is a lot quicker than it was now that you entirely bypass Geelong and Waurn Ponds.

Via Colac: 275 km, 3 hours 23 mins
Via Mortlake: 277 km, 3 hours 36 mins

So many options... would love to do GOR, but would like to get to the accommodation before dark too. Plane arrives at 1:30pm.

Anyway, who's up for a mini meet in Warrnambool?
