Melbourne 2012 Cruise #1 - Phillip Island GoKarting

The masses have spoken and gokarting it is, hence the first Melbourne cruise for 2012 is up and running. Info is below, with plenty of time for people to make arrangements, whether it be getting their car together, or getting time off work, or both!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Date: Sunday 1st of July 2012

Meet point: TBA (will be somewhere within Bayswater for close access to Mountain Hwy)

Meet time: 10:30am for 11:00am departure (Go karting will be booked for 1:30pm)

End location: Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit Go Kart Track

Cost: $68 for go-karting, $20 for food (less if you're not a guts like me) and fuel

What to bring: CB radio (if you have one), Helmet for gokarting (don't stress if you don't have one as they will be supplied at gokarting venue) and FULL tank of juice (Josh, bring 2 x full tanks if you're cruising in the Adventra :P ).

Other important info:
Firstly, everyone is welcome, the more the merrier.
Secondly, you don't have to own an RS to partake, as being car minded people, we're pretty much all happy to talk crap about any cars, so all cars are welcome.
Thirdly, you don't have to know anyone else to come join us, as at some stage or another everyone has attended their first cruise, so regardless of how many posts you've got, everyone is welcome.
Fourthly, everyone is welcome, the more the merrier!!! :P

Itinerary:
- Meet at designated meet point as above (currently TBA) at 10:30am
- Depart for cruise at 11am - cruise up Mountain Hwy, through Sassafras, Kallista, Emerald and Cockatoo, then crusie down Pakenham Rd, down through Koo Wee Rup and onto the Bass Hwy to Phillip Island. Cruise notes will be supplied on the day.
- Arrive at Phillip Island grand prix circuit approx. 1-1:15pm
- Gokarting will be booked for 1:30pm start, with 3 x 10min sessions
- After karting, we will drive to either Smiths Beach Rd, San Remo or Cowes, depending on the weather and traffic, and either get lunch at Smithies or Fish and Chips in either San Remo or Cowes.
- After lunch, cruise home either via FWY, or choose your own adventure.

Not super fast, easy top out down the main straight. It's all about the clock down there, very hard to shave time off.

Hey.
Definitely count me in for this one. First time going on a cruise/meet so it will be good to meet some new people. I'll probable be the odd one out with an Outback. Might see if my bro will come with his B4.

Cheers
