Rob Roy Hillclimb Sunday July-10.

Postby Ric » Thu Jun 30, 2011 10:21 am

I've entered my 3RB into this event, trying to see if I can break 26 seconds up the hill.

I should do pretty well in the 2001 - 3000cc class, especially if it's damp. :)
Come and have a look at some quite nice cars running up the hillclimb.
There's a tiny entry fee ($10 for one person, or $15 for a carload).

If you have a CAMS license, you can join the MG Car Club for one day for $1, and have a run too if you like. Entries close on Wed July-6.

You can see what sort of cars ran last year in the results at http://www.mgcc.com.au/robroy/results/2 ... esults.pdf
I came second in "Class D".

I might drop in for a bit Ric, see if I have time.

It was a pretty damp day, and I didn't break 26 seconds, but I did win the 2L - 3L class, and came 8th outright :)
For the record, I did 26.80 seconds on my second run.

I just bought a CD of photos taken by a professional photographer at the event.
You can see them at http://photos.liberty.asn.au/2011-rr-cc-ric/

You can work out how hard I'm cornering from how low the suspension is compressed. ;)
(This is from one photographer over three seperate runs. You can tell when he moves to a new location.
You can also see it was getting hard to stay on the track on the third run after some light rain!)
