I see people laughing and giving shit to taylor for his stack..or lachie for his write off while following me..but honestly, I give a thumbs up for trying. How are u ever gonna learn to walk without falling? Or if u aren't interested walking..why buy runners?

You are making the assumption that I will never take my car to a track, which you are probably right. But I do plan on doing a skid pan and some drivers courses that cruisn recommended. For me that's all I need. As long as I can drive to Box Hill to pick up my rice I'm content.

Fair enough. As I said, each to their own. A 1.8 corolla gets u to box hill just fine. With awesome fuel economy too

Sorry Owen, gotta disagree with you here.

Even more important that you gain your experience on the track rather than on public roads. Just because you have a modded or high powered car doesn't mean you drive to the cars limits.

As for Lachie, a costly lesson or life experience, call it what you want, I'd never wish on anyone. Lucky his experience was at his cost only and not an innocent party.

You've done a lot of track work and then had Lachie trying to keep up on a public road, at night, would seem a bit reckless, IMO.

For those wondering, I'm a bit older with a son Lachie's age.

I agree with what u say Bruce, however I didn't expect lachie to keep up. There were other cars there that night and none of them did. I wasn't driving at the car's limit either. What it comes down to is the driver's self control. Don't drive beyond ur own comfort zone. How many people drive thru those roads every day? How many go home in a taxi?

Being a cruise virgin, at least I now know what a cruise really is without having to go on one. So what if Kieran doesn't want to drive his car "to its limits"? Who are you to ell him how to drive his car anyway?

I'd rather not lose my licence anyway by the sound of what goes on. ;)

It'd be hard to lose your licence through the spur, unless a cop saw you going sideways. Theres only a few straights. going fast in a straight line isnt fun anyway.

I've been on the spur a few times so I know what it's like. Don't really want to go sideways regardless, so I guess I miss out.

I never drive my car to the limit on public roads, because my car would be on street tyres and that wouldn't really be the car's limit, which is pointless. I go 100% on track, and 110% when there is an evo nearby.

I've been doing spirited drives thru kinglake - chum creek since i was on my L's and park outside the police station with 10+ cars. The cops have often come out to have a chat, and when i had my pink S14 even knew me by name. Once I got told off for having my foglights, and one other time i rolled thru the stop sign in my supra. Pulled me over and gave me a warning when he saw that it was me. That's 10 years, not a single stack apart from hitting a kangaroo and never been booked for anything.

So i'll say once again, don't do anything stupid. don't try to be a hero and do fully sik burnouts, AND DON'T SPEED THRU THE TOWNS..u will be fine :)

i think the issue here is you sound cocky and most racers never seem to be so cocky cause they know shit happens and once you have a big stack then you know and understand why. my 2 cents

I think the issue is everyone being so BORING.
We should enjoy these cars! spirited driving is the main reason we should wake up in the morning.
It's not illegal going over the advisory speeds around corners, and if you don't do anything stupid, you'll be fine, and still have a great time.
C'mon people!
