You are making the assumption that I will never take my car to a track, which you are probably right. But I do plan on doing a skid pan and some drivers courses that cruisn recommended. For me that's all I need. As long as I can drive to Box Hill to pick up my rice I'm content.

Tampered track day coming up in march! Would be awesome to have a few animal libs out there making the evo drivers cry

Sorry Owen, gotta disagree with you here.
Even more important that you gain your experience on the track rather than on public roads. Just because you have a modded or high powered car doesn't mean you drive to the cars limits.
As for Lachie, a costly lesson or life experience, call it what you want, I'd never wish on anyone. Lucky his experience was at his cost only and not an innocent party.
You've done a lot of track work and then had Lachie trying to keep up on a public road, at night, would seem a bit reckless, IMO.
For those wondering, I'm a bit older with a son Lachie's age.

I'd rather not lose my licence anyway by the sound of what goes on.

It'd be hard to lose your licence through the spur, unless a cop saw you going sideways. Theres only a few straights. going fast in a straight line isnt fun anyway.
