6 cyl owners

HI all,

I would like to ask a favour, could anyone with a 3.0R-B (or R even) take me for a spin. I'm considering one to update my RS liberty (among others). I'm struggling to find a dealer with a manual one and I don't want to hassle someone with a private sale for what is essentially a research run.

I'm on the northside, will come to meet you, and will bring beer.

Jarrod

Hey there Jarrod, what my little 2.0lt T was not good enough for you...lol
You may not like the linear power of the H6 mate after driving your RS, I know it didn't impress me much.....no offense guys

cheers
Steve

Will be interesting. I test drove an 07 GT-B with the SI drive and while it launched really well, and was pretty fast it was largely unexciting. I felt like I needed to change the turbo, change the exhaust and re-tune. Not good when you're shelling out $40k and you want to spend another five before you're gonna be happy with it. It honestly didn't feel like a turbo was fitted.

I'm still looking for a manual one to sample.

If I could stand the thought of driving a sedan, that's what I'd be in.

(but they also need at least $5k in mods to be acceptable)

redrocket, Jarrod has bought an 07/08 GT-B sedan, think he drove both but decided the easy proven mods with the EJ25 was a better option for him atm

Thanks Steve, I did end up driving one a 6 cyl, lovely engine, just didn't have enough as standard. Neither did the turbo to be honest but you make better gains with an exhaust, intake cooler, possibly a turbo and then a reflash.

There are definitely still times where I wish I'd got the F6 or the FG 6T.

Like with the current wet roads, so you can hone your drifting skills around all those roundabouts on the way home?? :D
