[QLD] Brisbane city/northside meetup?

[QLD] Brisbane city/northside meetup?

Postby subnub » Tue Oct 28, 2008 12:21 pm

Hi all

I've recently joined up and wouldn't mind meeting a few new people. I've had a look around and haven't seen anything in the way of Brisbane meets, am I being a bit thick? Have I just missed them?

If not, would anyone be keen? I'm thinking a weekday dinner - something like Nandos or Fasta Pasta at Chermside (there's a FP at Stones Corner too), the awesome Thai place in North Lakes/Mango Hill, the Morrisson in West End all spring to mind - but really I'm open to any suggestion.

If something is already in the pipeline I'm happy to tag along to that but as I said, I couldn't find anything already organised :)

Cheers
Marc

I love fasta pasta! I'm busy until the 22nd of November but anything after that I'm free.

OK so tentatively, 26 Nov (it's a Wednesday) should be ok by the sounds of it. That's HEAPS of notice too :)

I'm leaning towards the Fasta Pasta on Gympie Rd at Aspley (not Chermside sorry, got the suburbs mixed up) because it has more parking than the one at Stones Corner, but am happy to fit in with what works for everyone.

Would like to catch up Marc, but Aspley is way too far out of town for me.

West End perhaps?

West End works perfectly for me as that's where I work :) And the Morrisson cook a decent steak too.

Anyone else have any thoughts or preferences?

Ah cool, will probably be able to make that one. I was hoping for something a little sooner but then again, I'm not used to people giving me heaps of notice! I'll check with the events coordinator, I know we have something on in early Dec but I can't remember what date it is.

Anyway I'm guessing I haven't had much interest because I'm a noob, which is understandable. You never know if the new guy is a wanker (I'm sure some people think I am haha) or if he's going to try to organise impromptu races or anything stupid like that. So I suppose if anyone is keen, shoot me a PM, otherwise I'll catch up at a meet sometime :)

Hey Marc,

Don't think it's a personal issue- the guys here in Brisvegas have a tendancy to be a little reticent no matter who is organizing.
Well except when it's Kurt. We all want to have Kurts babies...
We gotta show him some lerv cause not only is he missing a hair dryer, but his ferkin lib breaks more than an 80's dancer...

Nice ride by the way dude...

Thanks mate :)

Yeah it's all good, I've posted in the "Kurt's farewell lunch" thread so I might see a few people then! Sucks to hear about his reliability issues too :(
