SEQ Cruise - Sunday 24th or 31st Aug

Postby LUVIT » Sat Aug 02, 2014 7:06 pm

Who's up for another cruise, say in 3 or 4 weeks time on the 24th or 31st? That should also be just after Matt's up here tuning mid August.
Where do we feel like going?
I've been fangin' for another cruise since the new donk was put in.

New donk hey? Ouch!

Hopefully I should have a few mods sorted by the end of the month, but I'm keen for a cruise either way. I'm hoping to head up sunny coast for a cruise through the hinterland. Not sure on everyone else's thought on that.

31st would suit better. North coast direction could be good through somerset and maleny. Myself and a couple of others should be heading to willowbank on Wednesday if the rain stays away. Everyone is welcome to join

Yeah, a few details of what happened to the old engine in the link on the right --->

Sunny Coast and Maleny sounds alright, via the highway, inland, or bit of both?
Maybe we can rig it like a convoy and pickup along the way, including the guys out at Toowoomba and Ipswich at Somerset.

I would've liked to have gone to the drags tonight if my car wasn't in the paint shop.
I'll make a point of it once I get it back and the cool night air is still around.

I'll also be going to the next Street Sprints at Lakeside Raceway on Sept 13, the last one was unreal.
Maybe we can have a meet up there one day.

As long as a portion of the run is through the mountain twisties I'm happy. Hopefully all mods are installed are ready to go for a super sweet photo shoot!

31st will suit me better too.
How would this itinerary suit?
Start at the Caltex/Jacks servo just after Beams rd, then meet the guys from Ipswich/Toowoomba at the Somerset dam wall, then SC.

Another option could be go straight to Beerwah or Maleny up the highway and make our way around the SC hinterland.

That looks pretty good. But from Kilocy to Maleny you're much better off sticking to more enjoyable roads, rather than going out to beerwah/landsborough.

I'd be keen, and then would probably come back down through Woodford/Mt Mee and Dayboro.

Looks like a good route! I would be continuing to Maplteon > Nambour and home to Maroochydore afterwards. There's a nice bit of twisty bit from Mapleton > Nambour too.

31st is fine for me also. Early meet @ start point? 8-9am?

I might come but I'll wait and see when it's closer to the date.

I don't know my way around most of those areas so it would be a time for me to use my GPS and hope I don't end up in the middle of no where.

The only place I have been in Mt Glorious and that was on the bike which is allot different.

If I do come it will give my lib a chance to get out since I barely use it.

31st sounds good to me. I'm not too fussed on where we go; Maleny and/or Sunshine Coast is more than fine by me.

I might be able to tag along for a bit. I live right near Maleny so I can join the guys going onward through Mapleton to Nambour.. Permitting my vehicle is still able to run!
I need to know ALLLL of the things!

Here's another map with an alternate way from Kilcoy to Maleny, added on Mapleton, ended at the Big Pineapple cos I might stop off there for a sundae.
Plenty of options there to join in or drop off along the way if you don't want to do the whole journey.

I am keen for a run but ultimately it will depend on whether or not I'm working that night. Which I more than likely won't know until the week leading up to that weekend. So I'll put my hand up as a maybe at this stage. Looks like that drive would be good fun though!
