Cruise before the end of year?

Re: Cruise before the end of year?

I'm keen and I too would like to avoid a massive trip purely for the fact that the fuel gauge in the Wagon (yes, it's up and running!) doesn't work and I'm unsure how many k's I will get out of a tank. Unless we chose a route with as many petrol stations along the way as possible haha. Trying to avoid my effort on the last cruise

Suggestion- as most of us appear to be on a budget at the moment, and most of us appearing to be brisbane locals, would it be worth foregoing the sunny coast hinterland this time and just run up Nebo for the sake of getting out of the house for a couple of hours?

All that aside, I am pretty flexible on location and other activities planned (stopping for a feed and/or photo shoot)

I am in if it's Maleny and the work is done on my car by then.
Can't do the gap as I will be coming from the Sunshine Coast.
A change would be nice too haha :P

If I do come is it okay if I bring a mate with a Nissan?

We don't take kindly to nissans around these parts.

But really, I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say the more the merrier.

I've also decided I'm definitely attending now.

If Maleny could we do a meet up point for those that want to take Mt Mee vs Bruce Hwy route and a central spot at Landsbourogh or something and we all go from there? Cheaper for those of us on budgets to cruise up the highway.

You're just worried you won't be able to keep up! :D

... I know I am.

I'm happy to meet out on the highway.
A change from Nebo/Glorious would be fresh :P

Cruise before the end of year?

Postby Aidos » Mon Dec 23, 2013 10:14 pm

I spouse this would be a good a time as any to tell people that I've recently moved up to sunny Brisy!

Put me down as very possible =)

Welcome, friend. Did you come up to escape the heat? Haha.

With any luck we're able to make a decision on what's happening before the day

Guys it looks like the RS boys (including me) are meeting up at Samford Village for a breakfast meetup around 8:30am. Unless someone else wants to do something different I am suggesting we do a short cruise from Samford, up through Mt Glorious to one of the look-outs (forget the name) on the rear side of the mountain. It is about a 35K drive from Samford mostly twisties, very little open road. Plenty of room at the destination for photos if we want. We can then head home from there or others wanting some open road can continue on down the backside of the mountain towards Kingaroy. Let me know what you think. This way we would aim to leave Samford 9:45ish and should be back around lunchtime.

Sounds good, Tim, but some members here have said they can only make it if it's in Maleny. Maybe the solution is doing 2 separate, concurrent cruises? The RS guys are going to go around Mt Glorious irrelevant of what we do, so that's one option that seems to be settled.

And if people can't/don't want to make it to that one, there's another one around Maleny too. Just need to work out the details etc for that one. I've never really been around that area, so I think that burden should fall on someone else.

For what it's worth, I think I might go the Maleny one if/when it's organised as I'd like to cruise around a new area.

I dunno man, from what I had seen on the weather channel lately SA was copping the heat straight from the depths of hell haha. Ah well hopefully brisneyland is all its cracked up to be then.

Back on topic-ish, with a bank account boost from work I will be a definite and will likely make a day of it if people are keen to keep driving after Glorious.
