Unfortunately for me the work forecast isn't looking too good though. Always the way, not working much at the moment and as soon as I plan something work gets in the way.

That's too bad. If the road is as good as it looks from google maps, I might go for another run before the snow falls.

Or more importantly, before they close the road between Cabramurra and Khancoban for the winter :)

Probably Queens Birthday Weekend... the 'carry chains' requirement for 2WDs is from the June to the October long weekends.

But IIRC the RTA Regional Traffic reports site lists the closure when it happens - they list the road to Charlottes when it closes as well...

Might be able to meet you all for a bit depending on what time you plan on hitting Jindy. I'd certainly be up for a run before winter. My work situation is all over the place at the moment, delays with the new workshop being built, so it's a case of make hay whenever the sun shines but hopefully all should be sorted by mid-March. As Hobber said the road is open usually until the June long weekend but it all depends on snowfall. I think 2006 they didn't close it at all due to lack of snow.

I'll believe it when we see it. So far we were supposed to have rain for the last two days but all we go was a light shouwer that barely wet the dirt. Haven't had much rain at all lately even though it's been forcast.

Same in cbr. a sprinkle last night that just made the car look bad but did nothing for the plants.

how's the landscape? green or brown?

hopefully the road will be bone dry.

It's pretty brown until you hit the Thredbo Valley then it greens up. Pretty dry from Kiandra as well but the road will make up for the lack of picturesque landscape there.

I'm changing ISPs. Telstra have p!ssed me off once too often.

So I've disconnected from telstra and it'll take a while before my new internet connection works.

gunna, Turtlez and Noozl, if you've lost my phone number and you want it, send me a PM tonight.

otherwise, I'll see you at MacDonalds on sat. morning.
