Lance has organised a BBQ for the 1st of Feb. with some rexnet guys.
http://www.rexnet.com.au/forum/index.ph ... try1468905
Date: 1st feb 2009
Time: 11:30am
where: cotter picnic area
what to bring: Own meat, drinks, footy's, kids, wifes/ girlfriends etc etc
there are alot of BBQ's available and open grass area's and a play ground for the kids
It'll be a chill out day and a chance to meet others and have a chat rather than driving around looking for the next hairpin. Lance is running the show, but I'll play messenger if anyone has questions.
Hope to see you all there.

I should be in for that. I will cruise around the back loop from Tharwa to the Cotter is anyone is keen to go that way. Roads are 'perfect' from Tharwa to the tracking station turn off but get a little rough in places after that.

Hey Kev, If I go, that route sounds good, as I have NFI how to get to the cotter, so might tag along with ya.

For sure. You can go the boring way through weston creek, past stromlo etc or you go the 'scenic' way, round the back. Now my car is lowered I have to take note of a few of the bumpy bits but still had no scrubbing as yet.

Got you both penciled in.
I know the road from Tharwa to Cotter. some really nice sweepers and cresting bends. Just be careful of the tight cresting left hander 3/4 of the way to the cotter. It's got a great view on one side, and might still have skid marks at the apex.

I know the one you are referring to, all too well actually. You'd think after drving my RS lib, GT Forester and now the GT Lib that I'd have learnt to take it a little easier out that way.

I'd come for the drive (& boy is it a nice drive) but I'm trying to keep my mileage to a minimum while the weather is so hot.
Have fun to all that are going!

C'mon Canberra drivers, let's get some half decent numbers to at least one event.
Cheers,
Kev

No worries. There's a good chance I will take my wife and son along for a swim/play/bbq so I'll go either way. I am happy to go past Tharwa and see if anyone shows, it's on the way for me so no drama's there.
All good.
