CBR meetup - karting and dinner-> CANCELLED, don't turn u

Postby sundayDriver » Mon May 05, 2008 10:00 pm

Here's the plan:

Meet at the lakeside in between the Nat. Art Gallery and the High Court at 5:30 pm on the 14th June (Saturday). There's lots of parking there and it's a good spot to hang out.

Head out to Hume for karting at 5:45pm.

Head to APK Woden for dinner at 7:30pm.

At this stage, it's all still flexible (time, meetup location, resteraunt), so if you have a better idea post it up.

We can do photos at the lake if people want to and we can drive the long way round to Hume if people feel up to a cruise.

Wow plenty of warning! I like it, will it be a bit dark to take photos?

Make sure there are plenty of pics of the meet up.

Hey SundayDriver

Sounds like a nice day. I will be there for sure. I think I will have a few added mods to the mix by that time :) hopefully my car can look nice and sexy.

Hey Urban.

In June it might be a bad time at 5:30pm to take photos. but maybe later on we can take photos after dinner or something.

Hey Tan, what is the price of the karts ??

I went out to Hume today to talk to SuperKarts. The prices are as follows.

Day membership: $1.50
Year membership: $3.00

Sessions
10min: $15/person
2x10min: $29/person
3x10min: $40/person

If we have 8 people then we can all buy 3x10min at $36/person (add membership to that).

There is also a discount structure for 10 people, but I forgot how that goes. They run about 10 or 11 karts per session and sat. evening is busy so I booked for 6 people, but that can be changed. So if you have a friend who you think may be interested in coming along, the more the merrier.

They also have BBQ facilities that we can use for free, but we have to bring our own meat to cook. If we want to do this, then someone else will have to organise the catering, 'cause I'm terrible at organising food. It's also possible to have pizza delivered to the place, but I don't think we want to go down that path.

Looks like June 14th is the day to meet up. There's been no objections to the plan so it's set.

There's been talk about meeting earlier in the afternoon for more light to take photos with and I'll be happy to meet up with anyone that wants to meet up at 3pm at the lake.

I'll do the confirmations later.
