Bilstein + H&R Suspension

Postby Jack_Keaka » Thu Mar 16, 2017 12:12 pm

Hi Everyone,
I'm happy to finally be able to give back to the Liberty community, being a member for many years and owning a couple of Libertys myself.
I work for Bilstein Suspension Australia and most recently we acquired H&R suspension Australia. They are both German brands who produce high quality suspension components.

On top of both of those products, we are more commonly known as Heasman Steering and Suspension. As the title suggests, we are a Sydney based steering and suspension specialist workshop.
We have been around for over 60 years, first opening in 1954. It is still family owned and operated.
So for those in Sydney looking for alignments, installs, repair work, suspension maintenance, track day set ups, corner weights etc - feel free to contact me via our facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/HeasmanSteering/

Bilstein have been producing and developing the worlds best shock absorbers for over 60 years and is the original monotube, gas pressure shock absorber. A technology still used today and is unbeaten and relied upon by the leading car manufacturers and championship winning motorsport teams, including sponsorship for Australian race series.

OEM Bilstein
We can service & repair the Bilstein shocks that came standard on Liberty's such as Gen4 Spec B's.
most other generation Libertys have a variant with Bilstein shocks, however most of them are crimped top seals (to force us back to Subaru dealers) so pretty much Gen 4 is the primary one we can work on for now.
Gen5 Bilsteins aren't yet available for us to buy to be able to sell, and servicing them can be costly.

A recondition includes
-pre dyno, New oil, shims, dividing piston, dividing piston O rings, top seals, working piston seals, clean and post dyno + rate graph.
So if they've done many km's but you don't want to buy new ones, we can make them as good as new. Leaky shocks usually just need a reco and they're good as new.
In saying that, we can also re-rate the shocks

We also offer new Bilstein shocks to suit all Gen4 Liberty models
Bilstein B6 - standard height
Bilstein B8 - lowered springs

We can pretty much do just about anything custom from street use to motorsport.

H&R

Another high quality German brand that is 100% German made. Like Bilstein, H&R produces OEM components for some of the worlds best car manufacturers and supplies for world class motorsport teams (DTM, Formula 1, Monoposto, GT etc)
The main difference between H&R and most other brands is that they are made from high quality materials (ISO 9001) and are cold wound, meaning they won't sag or lose efficiency.

We have lowering spring kits to suit:
Gen 3 BH only - lowers 40mm
Gen 4 BL, BP, BPS - lowers 35mm - also a kit to raise 35mm
Gen 5 BM, BR, BRS - lowers 35mm

You can send through any inquiries through to service@bilstein.com.au

Thanks,
Jack

Hi,

Whats the turn around time to have all 4 shocks reconditioned? will you keep the car the entire time or do you require the shocks removed from the vehicle first?

Hi can I get some confirmation on this please.

I've just emailed the service email above and have been told that the gen4 bilstein rear shocks are crimped and not rebuildable. And have been quoted a higher price for the fronts to be rebuilt than was listed above. I'm a bit lost now.
